Super powerful in-line fan
This in-line fan has beefy construction, excellent bearings (turn it off and the thing spins for a LONG time) and is more quiet for the CFM than I ever would have ever expected. We are using it to exhaust our large music studio basement, mostly because so many people who visit smoke. I'll return to edit this review as soon as we have used it for several months. Delivery was delayed by many weeks due to the supply chain problems that the rest of us have experienced, and I do not hold the manufacturer responsible for that, having seen it first hand at my own job.

The system for out house worked great for the main level and the basement is like ...
OMG!!! I can't believe the amount of air this fan puts out, it's unbelievable. I live in Colorado and for some reason the air conditioning and heater go in the basement in most of the time in track homes. Hot air rises but, cold air doesn't. The vent to my bedroom had no air blowing out of it at all. The system for out house worked great for the main level and the basement is like a meet locker. Once I installed the booster fan and the end of the main vent in the basement and turned it on, my wife got all mad a me cause a bunch of crap from when the house was built came blowing out. After we cleaned that out. and let it run for a while it actually created a vacuum sensation and raised the temperature of our main floor of the house buy 3 degrees which I was surprised to see. after running the system for a couple of hours and cold air began to flow through the returns the main floor temperature returned to is original setting of 72 degrees. I'm 100% happy with the outcome. I new that the noise level would increase once installed this fan which was to be expected. I'm fine with that, however my wife is not. I work outside all day in the sun when I get home I want to sleep cool at night. I will be installing a wireless 3 speed controller inline to slow it down so my wife does't hear as much when we go sleep. you may not like it as much as I do.

This Fan Really Blows!!!!
This fan is amazing!!! I purchased it to replace an existing generic inline duct fan and I am BLOWN away (hehe). It moves twice as much air and on high it is quieter than the old crappy duct fan! This thing reminds me of a jet engine (obviously ALOT quieter). It works well with the speed adjuster which was another thing the old duct fan failed miserably at and the noise is very tolerable once connected in-line with ducting. I have it set up with a filter for the warm air intake from the grow tent and it exhausts into an 8" Carbon Filter. Its quiet enough that once i leave the room i cannot hear it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thanks for such an awesome product!! I will be purchasing more as well as recommending this to all my grower friends!!! THANKS!!!**Update**I would recomend an Auto Transformer as a speed control device. You can turn this fan all the way down to almost nothing and there will be no "whine" or "hum". An auto transformer is better for the fan then the cheap Speed Controllers. The Auto transformer actually lowers the voltage instead of "chopping it up" like the cheaper controllers do.

Nice exhaust fan
This is a nice exhaust fan for kitchens, bathrooms, workshops, or greenhouses where you want to move air with no static pressures. I bought it to move a lot of air across a heat source that needs to be cooled but it will not pull enough cfm through a 4 inch duct. I need to move about 400 cfm at a high velocity. I would purchase again for general low static use but if you need more pull this isn't the fan. Well built and solid. The fan has no slop in the bearings and spins for some time after shutdown.

Ok
Moves lots of air but is much louder than a similar rated hydrofarm fan. Can feel it through my floor :(

It doesn't get any better...
I was trying to ventilate a sound-proofed closet where I keep my air compressor in a garage, so significant airflow is needed. I tried the cheap $25 inline 6" fan, then one of the pricier inline fans, and was disappointed by the airflow from both. This one, on the other hand, is a different animal. The metal from which it is made is thick and sturdy. The bearings are clearly high quality and the impeller is heavy and robust - it spins for minutes after the motor shuts off because of the heft and lack of friction. It's only slightly noisier than the cheap-o fan, but delivers literally 100 times as much air. And if you do want it to be quieter, just order the kit with the variable speed control (it was cheaper than the fan by itself as of the time of this review). You can turn down the speed to reduce noise, and still get a lot of air through it. Seriously, I'm *stunned* at the volume of air this thing is able to move. It's exactly what I needed, and precisely what I should have bought in the first place.Super high quality, copious air volume, fast shipping, and American made. There's literally no way to go wrong with this fan.

What a Great Vent Fan!
I pulled this out of the box and plugged it in just to see how quiet it was. All I could hear was the slight sound of air. After unplugging the fan took about 2 minutes to stop spinning! So I dug into the old vent for my kitchen. It had a blower that was mounted on top of the roof. It was installed in the 50's when the house was new. Stink bugs got into the motor and fried it. The pipe was 7" so I had to get two 6-7 adapter pipes. After some slicing and dicing, wood brackets for the attic, wiring a plug-in outlet for the wire from the original 3-speed switch, and some good foil tape, what a difference! The old blower on high was only as good as this blower on low. When it is set to med. or high it really moves the air! The fan itself is very quiet. You can barely hear it in the attic. The sound above the stove is from the air moving from the hood to the pipe. On low it sounds like the old fan, but higher the air sound gets louder. I am going to try some mesh filter material above the drip tray. That may muffle some of the sound. I think this fan is a great value! If you are not afraid to dig into a project, try this unit out. Compared to the replacement vent hoods I was finding, this was a much better option!
