I still carry a few for trash but these jars should cut down on that.I purchased 24 of these jars for roughly what 6 boxes of zip lock baggies would cost and I should at least be able to get a season of use out of each jar. I will update next fall after using them to let you know how they did.I plan to carry dry foods like oatmeal, rice, powdered soups etc......If I wanted to carry liquids, I would buy some flat rubber washers / o-rings and see if they worked to seal these jars.In conclusion, untill I get a chance to field test some of these jars I will leave my 5 star rating because I am happy with the jars so far.Oh yes before I forget... 12 of these jars weigh 11.05 ounces or 313 grams.
