Fone Bone and his cousins plan to return home after visiting the village of Barrelhaven with Thorn and Gran'ma Ben. But Phoney Bone risks everything on one last get-rich-quick scheme for the town's annual Great Cow Race. As usual, Phoney's plans go disastrously awry, and Boneville seems farther away than ever. Meanwhile, ominous signs indicate that a war is brewing, and Fone Bone finds himself helping his friends defend their idyllic valley from a formidable enemy. Review: I recommend reading the series! - Great read! Brings me back to my childhood memories! Review: Classic in color, great job - Having read the Bone series in the original black and white, I was a little worried about how it would be with color. The stories were never intended to be in color and I wasn't sure if it would really have the same feel colorized. Well, I am in love with this version, it looks fantastic. Breaking it up into nice sized chapters is great (the omnibus was unwieldy and the individual comics short and expensive to collect)and very affordable. I am a big fan of the series, which seem "cutesy" on first look. Don't let the Scholastic imprint fool you, these were published by Image comics originally. It is kid friendly, but not a children's story. When you read them, you will realize that there is a great epic story that builds with a nice progression and fantastic art. I bought these to read with my sons who are 4 and 6, they were instantly drawn into the story from the beginning, and have been counting down the days til the new chapters arrived. Definitely give the series a read, it starts a little slow, but is excellent all the way through. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #28,677 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #273 in Children's Action & Adventure Comics & Graphic Novels #960 in Graphic Novels (Books) | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 1,229 Reviews | ## Images ![The Great Cow Race: A Graphic Novel (BONE #2) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/7121Up2aHtL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Media Language, Media Format** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recommend reading the series! *by D***N on March 9, 2025* Great read! Very silly and exuberant storytelling, and beautiful drawings of course. A little advanced for a second grader, but still a worthy challenge. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ph/products/10030956-the-great-cow-race-a-graphic-novel-bone-2](https://www.desertcart.ph/products/10030956-the-great-cow-race-a-graphic-novel-bone-2) --- *Product available on Desertcart Philippines* *Store origin: PH* *Last updated: 2026-10-25*
