A Very Good Pictures Book! Yet My Principal Grouse With This Volume Is The Exclusion Of Magnum Associate Raghu Rai! Clearly Raghu Rai Is One Of The Greatest Photographers Of The 20th Century! Giving This Tome 4 Stars Is Due To Raghu Rai's Works Being Excluded!

A Magnum sempre se destacou como a mais icônica powerhouse de fotógrafos. Com esta obra "Magnum Magnum", todos podem conhecer ou reconhecer o que existiu de melhor na fotografia social, urbana ou rural, no cotidiano ou na guerra, no século XX. Simplesmente imperdível como obra de referência, sem esquecer a necessária reverência a ser prestada àqueles que capturaram a luz e de forma magistral contaram um pouco da História do mundo.

Been interested in the history of Magnum for quite a while. Many of my favourite photographers were members. H C-B was a founding member, Martin Parr is a chap whose work is particularly inspiring. The book is a treasure. I’m getting Contact Sheets next.

As a long time student of photography, I thought I had a healthy fan-boy appreciation for Magnum’s photographers. In this encyclopedia of 50+ years of some of the best photography from the 20th century, with photographs selected by and essays written by other Magnum photographers, I realized I only knew a fraction of the names and images. This has led me to dive deeper into the work of some of the lesser known artists in this book.
