this is the raincoat I've been looking for
I guess I'm getting nostalgic as I get older but lately an old-school yellow raincoat has been on my mind. Like the one I had as a kid. It was oversized, optic yellow and stiff as a plank. Technology rules as this new coat is all of the above except the plank part. It's heavy, leg-warming long, maneuverable, roomy and crazy yellow just like I remember. The hood I think is designed with some sort of headgear in mind because it's pretty big but I'm sure it'll come in handy at some point. I picked up a Grundens fisherman's style hat in yellow anyhow so I'm ready for Gloucester harbor now

Stay dry!
Good value if you need to stay dry. It’s a little rubbery but not so much that it hinders movement.

The Hood is the only drawback.
I'm 6' tall with very long arms. I got an XXL because I want to wear layers underneath and sometimes a small backpack. With an undercoat the sleeves go down to my palm, plus a gusset which extends 6" more, so 5+ stars there. The length of the coat goes 6" below my knees, 5 Stars there. The material it's made of is about as heavy as good rain coat come, 5 stars there. The XXL gives plenty of room for my long stride when hiking, another 5 stars. The problem is the hood (which is not shown being used on the display). It is cut for either a cone head, a sleestak, or someone with a top knot, as my head is the normal round I give 4 stars. The real problem is the bill on the hood. If the bill is out then its weight pulls it down below my nose and thus block my view. If I fold it up then it pushes the sides of the hood out so it funnels air in. The bill also prevents the hood draw from working. At best the hood gets 3 stars. Fortunately cutting the bill off is easy and does very little damage to the hood (the bill seem to be an bad afterthought).

Excellent quality, but runs very, very, VERY large.
When all these reviewers say this raincoat runs large, they're not kidding. My normal winter coat is an XXL Patagonia and is a perfect fit, so I thought I'd order this in the same size. I expected it to be a bit roomy to allow for wearing a coat or sweater or whatever underneath...but what showed up was so huge, it should be sold with tent poles in the camping department. The sleeves went well past my fingertips. I'm not very tall (5' 9") so I expected it to go below my knees, but the bottom hem landed mid-shin. When I pulled it tight around me, it overlapped 9" like it was doublebreasted. All that said, this thing is extremely well made and would probably look pretty awesome on a pro-wrestler, or maybe Hagrid. If the XL was available with Prime shipping, I'd exchange this humungous thing for a smaller one in a second, and I'm sure I'd be very happy with it. But I need this ASAP and the XL wouldn't get here in time, so I regret that I'll have to return this oversized overcoat.

Impervious to rain
This will keep you completely dry no matter how hard the rain. The trade off is weight. I use it for riding my bike to work so it’s excellent. I would use if for dayhiking but for extended or backcountry, I would opt for a lighter coat.

Great quality well worth the money.
Great quality. Keeps me dry and warm on hard windy, rain morning in Florida. I use it for work and tending live stock.

Not for hot weather but it is a great extra-length raincoat
This is a much heavier/sturdier jacket than I anticipated, which may make it too uncomfortablly hot to wear in the rain on a warm or hot summer day; hence 4 rather than 5 stars. But, the construction appears to be of high quality and so I am pleased. The color is very bright, which exactly what I wanted in order to be highly visible during the day or when illuminated via headlights when it is dark out.The length is great with it going down to my knees (I am a 6-footer). After camping in the Redwoods NP for 10 days with my old standard length raincoat and having heavy, heavy rains during that time that left my pants entirely soaked and me unable to place anything in my pants pockets, like a phone, without it being in a zip lock bag, the entra length will be great to have in future deluges.Highly recommended other than in HOT weather.

Works for me
I’m fairly small lady.. 5’4 and small frame. On the coast, we get heavy rain with very strong winds. Sometimes, it is horizontal rain.I have tall boots and with this coat,,.I don’t get wet walking the dog. I do fold the hood up where the bill is...and wear a baseball cap under.I don’t have to use rain pants.

The quality looked good and thanks to Amazon's policy I was able to ...
I ordered the extra large. I am 5' 11" and 210 lbs and have longer legs. The raincoat was much longer than it showed in the picture. It came down past my knees slightly lower that the top of the boots in the picture. The quality looked good and thanks to Amazon's policy I was able to return it.

Great quality, nice and thick, good zipper and snaps
I'm thrilled with my new raincoat! It's been on my wish list for a very long time and I wish I'd bought it sooner. It keeps me completely dry when it's pouring rain and I go for long walks (90 minutes plus). It's a bit big on me but it does the job and that's what matters. The pockets are nice and big. I like that the sleeves are gathered at the wrist and the sleeve is designed to hang down flat over the gather. The hood was initially flat which obscured my vision but it only took a few days to reshape it.
