We bought them because they were recommended as being a little narrower fitting than others. This is probably true but I wonder if it is because they come up a little short and because of the narrowing toe area. Our daughter tried 39s for a couple of training sessions but could not get on with them due to them being a fraction too small and the shape of the toe area forcing her toes together uncomfortably. Perhaps a larger size would solve the problems but since the heel area is already almost too big for her feet, we know that going up a size may solve one problem but give us another.
