The backing is red and that makes the whole thing red. I tried to contact seller through the messaging and did not receive a response. I was extremely disappointed. I had one as a kid and it changed colors. The backing was silver which allowed all colors to show. I did not want to send back and order another one because seller would not respond and I didn't want another crappy red one. This is kind of pointless. You can't see the color changes because of the red plastic. It only goes from red to purple.
