A game-changer to add more exercise to your day easily.!
This is a game-changer for me, enabling me to add more exercise to my day with minimal effort. Itโs very quiet and sturdy and well designed! It really helps me close my exercise circles each day on my Apple Watch, allowing me to read or watch TV while Iโm spinning! I did quite a bit of research before I settled on purchasing this elliptical leg exerciser, and it definitely was a great choice Though it is heavy, it can slide easily under a chair when not in use.

Exactly what I needed to keep my blood flowing during the workday!
I have tried under desk pedalers before, but always the cheapest I could find, and none of them ever worked for me (bicycle-style ones make your knees go up too high and hit the underside of the desk, plus the angle is always awkward). I've been having problems with my circulation lately, and although I try to get up and walk around the office once an hour, my job is a desk job and I sit the majority of the day. Compression socks could only do so much for me. This elliptical is great. The large size of the pedals allow me to adjust my seating position without having to move the machine, it's nice and quiet (it makes a very gentle gliding noise, so it's not totally silent, but it's definitely not a volume anyone else is going to notice unless they're really sensitive to sounds), and it's very easy to use. It is a bit larger than I was expecting. I have an L shaped desk and sit in the corner, so it fits diagonally under the desk with no issues, but if I sat against one of the long sides of the desk I think I might have some trouble with it hitting the back of the desk. I also can't use it on anything other than the lowest setting because my chair will slide backwards, but my chair is also less than a month old so the wheels on it do not have a lot of resistance (the machine itself does not budge at all). My desk also has a raised power receptacle beneath it which made the placement a little hard to figure out but I made it work. I am only 5'1" so a taller person may have more trouble with finding a good position for this elliptical. However, if banging your knees on the underside of the desk is a worry, I would say my knees go up no more than half an inch at the highest point while pedaling.

Excellent for Physical Therapy at home!!!
I have had chronic pain in my SI joint, right hip, and right leg for nearly three years due to a work injury. After going to the chiropractor for months and months to very little avail, I was losing hope in how to address the injury and fix my atrophy and strengthen my core while being unable to work due to the pain and discomfort. I am only 31 years old... After starting Physical Therapy and realizing that low-impact exercise is the key to recovery (in my situation, and many others), I decided to do research on at-home under desk cycles and ellipticals. It was a close call between this, the Desk Cycle 2, and the multiple versions of the Cubii. The Cubii seemed to have too much fitness tracking and tech addons that made the price unjustifiable/unnecessary to me. I also noticed through days and days of comparisons and reviews that Desk Cycle Ellipse was coming out above the competitors on range of motion, resistance settings, noise, and foot placement (different foot placement works different muscles vs the Cubii working only one set). So far, the Ellipse has made a HUGE difference in my physical recovery. When I am not at PT or doing my exercises at home, I am using the Ellipse any chance I can get. It really helps my morning aches and stiffness when using it first thing in the morning while checking email/drinking coffee. It really is about as silent as it gets without being invisible and/or defying physics. the rotation is very smooth, the 'clicking' people mention is attributed to a lack of lubricant on the wheels/base, not the bearings or flywheel. I was concerned when I got the clicking noise, but after trial and error, realized that a little lubricant of any kind and making sure no cat hairs were on the wheel 'track' was the fix for me. I would like the option to strap my feet on like the Cubii, as I notice my feet sliding around on higher resistances without running shoes on, but this is an easy and cheap velcro fix vs paying more for the Cubii. Super easy to move and store, and the display screen it comes with is an awesome addition and works well with the Desk Cycle fitness tracker. Zero sliding on carpet, I'd assume wood or tile is even more sturdy but I have zero complaints there too. Highly recommended - zero regrets, and the best investment hands down for my physical recovery I've taken in 3 years of exhausting other avenues!

The Ellipse works great! Read on for some tips :-)
I bought this on 6/30/23, and here I am, almost 2 years later, writing a review. I bought it to use under my desk at work, because I found myself with too much time on my arse and not enough on my feet. I worked in a high school (I just retired) and was fortunate to share a building with the small practice gym, so if it wasnโt being used for morning practice, I would go in and walk about a 1/2 mile in gym laps before school started. I wanted something I could use when the gym wasnโt accessible, so I got this, but sadly, it was too tall for my desk. I tried to use it sitting sideways, which was great as long as I didnโt want to get any work done (sarcasm). I ended up bringing it home and putting it in my garage, where it sat, unused, until today. Why today? Iโm glad you asked! See, I have two elderly dogs, and my older one (age 13) has been suffering from major diarrhea for the past couple of days. Iโm talking, explosive, smelly, liquid stuff. So, in order to keep at least part of the downstairs area clean, Iโve had to confine her to the kitchen/dining room, which has tile floors. Now, this is a social pup here, so she was pretty miserable being separated from me and her sister, and I felt bad, too. I also havenโt been able to work out due to needing to keep an eye on her, because as soon as her tail lifts, we have to jet outside to avoid her jetting interesting, Pollock-like poo designs on the floor inside. Because Iโm a dumb human, it took me to TODAY to remember I even had this thing, and I face-palmed *hard* when I realized I could have been working out and keeping her company ALL. THIS. TIME. I brought it inside, cleaned it up, and promptly forgot how Iโd had it set up back when I first got it. It comes with a detachable monitor with a cord long enough you can set it on your desk or table or wherever, and keep track of basic stats (revolutions, time, calories, and rpm). I also remembered (barely) I had bought and attached the recommended Gpulse dual Bluetooth cadence/speed sensor, but I couldnโt remember the name of the app I had that worked with it. Turns out, thatโs okay, because the app has apparently been discontinued. Bummer! I can certainly understand the frustration of some other reviewers who said the Ellipse is worthless without a usable app. I mean, it still gives a great workout, but if you donโt want to bother to enter things manually, I get it. I kept reading, though, and found a reviewer who had figured out a workaround! The sensor is just a regular bike speed/cadence sensor, so I did what he suggested and connected the sensor (after replacing the dead battery) to Samsung Health on my phone, and bingo! It works great! I went to the bike settings and set it as an โotherโ bike, changed the wheel size to 700mm (per his rec), and sho โnuff, it started recording speed, distance, time, and calories on the Samsung Health app. Because Iโm a gadget junkie and canโt leave things well enough alone, I had to try and connect it to my Garmin watchโฆand it worked! It connected as a new sensor just fine, but it recorded my speed as 36mph lol - as compared to the Samsung app which said roughly 10mph. Thatโs probably my fault, but I didnโt take the time to figure it out yet. Iโll probably update this review if I decide to get that deeply into this. Itโs supposed to work with Apple Health as well, but I havenโt tried connecting it to my iPad yet so I donโt know about that. I have an Android phone, for reference. Remember, youโre connecting the machine to the app by using the sensor, not the monitor. Without the sensor, it canโt connect to anything because the monitor isnโt Bluetooth. Also, I saw some negative reviews claiming the Ellipse is dangerous because the pedals flop when you pick it up to move it. YES, they do - UNLESS you use the little bungee cords that are on either side of the resistance wheel to lock them in place! Some people have complained about snapped cords; I havenโt experience that, but I havenโt really used it enough yet so that remains to be seen. I did a .5 mile workout once I got everything connected, and BOY, do my legs feel it! And itโs only on resistance level 2! Iโm in pretty decent shape, too - I walk 2 or 3 miles every day, do indoor rowing, cycling, and skiing, and lift weights. Iโm a 57 y/o female, if that helps. (Iโve attached a photo with my workout results screen from the Samsung Health app) This machine IS heavy, but I like that because it stays in place no matter how vigorously I pedal, even on a tile floor. My biggest challenge is finding a chair that is the right height. I donโt have an adjustable office chair downstairs, so finding a balance between my couch (too low) and a kitchen chair (too high and squeaky) is hard, but the least of my worries. This little Ellipse is very solid, and it can provide excellent workouts if you give it a chance. TL;DR - great machine, WILL work with Bluetooth because can be connected to a bike sensor (but can also give you a great workout without using a sensor), use the bungees for pedal safety when moving it, and have a great workout!

DeskCycle Ellipse vs. DeskCycle 2 (I tried the original DeskCycle 2 yrs ago too))
You know the saying, "quality over quantity?" It really shows with this Ellipse model. Please, don't wait any longer and get this one! Why? Oh, still not convinced? You want me to explain further? Ok then, no problem, read up! :) Look, I tried the original DeskCycle in 2018 and it...was okay but I returned it after a day. I purchased the DeskCycle 2 and the Ellipse at the same time and from ease of assembly, and trash/recyclables from packaging, Ellipse is the way to go. The Ellipse requires you to fit the foot board on one side, flip it over, screw, flip back, then do the same to the other foot board. Done. The DeskCycle 2 requires you to assemble both the front and back leg stands as well as the foot pedals onto the machine. You could probably assemble 10 DeskCycle Ellipse models in the time you finish 1 DeskCycle 2. So, yeah, it's easy to assemble. Yeah but it's pricy right? Sure, but remember "QUALITY over quantity?" This is a very smart piece of engineering, thoughtfully planned out without the potential IKEA assembly stress. For quality control, the machine is set to 8, the highest resistance, so be sure to read the instructions thoroughly and crank it down to 1 before trying. Both machines worked great for my chair with wheels, but I'm also not on carpet so maybe it's a different story for that. There's zero noise level from both models. Seriously. You could hypothetically take it to a public library and it wouldn't disturb others - you still might get looks. Again, hypothetical. I have returned the DeskCycle 2 and purchased another Ellipse for myself as the first Ellipse was a gift. If it helps, the person typically favored the recumbent bike at the gym when we used to go, while I preferred the elliptical. We both 100% enjoy the Ellipse more the the DeskCycle 2. You don't have to strap in everytime, as you do with DeskCycle 2. With Ellipse, you just go, and you can adjust your foot placement for motion type! Oh, one more thing, the pedals can be secured if you want to lug it around or use it as a free weight hahaha. This is probably my favorite Amazon purchase of the year.

Super quiet, great design and function.
I like that it has 8 tension settings from super easy to impossible (for me). I can work up a sweat on it. It is very heavy, so stays put on hardwood floor or low-pile carpet. It is SILENT. Pedals rotate smoothly with NO noise. Pedal design makes it comfortable for any foot, leg, or knee abnormalities or injuries. When my knees or ankles start to strain, I just move my foot (bare, with socks, or with shoes) forward, backward or angled on the pedal plates and keep going. Also, I can strengthen different muscles with different foot positions. I love that the digital readout is removable and can be placed on a table, desk or chair, so I can read it easily (it's not lit) and make changes to the tension without having to bend down to the Ellipse while I'm pedaling. It's great that you can sit in any chair and in almost any position (short of totally reclining) that's comfortable. Beats the living you-know-what out of my stationary bicycle. It has a handle that makes it easy to carry or move, though it is heavy (which keeps it from traveling on the floor). Packaging was superb and the very limited assembly was super-easy. The mobile app and website can track and help plan my "rides". Once you enter your profile, it calculates how many calories you are burning for your particular workout. Also, the Ellipse is mechanically driven (by pedaling). It has no motor, so no motor noise and no need to place it near an outlet. The digital display runs on batteries. I actually prefer the Ellipse to any of the recumbent bikes at my gym. I can ride it any time I like, while reading, watching TV, or listening to music. Although I did not purchase it because of COVID-19 Stay Home policies, it certainly is perfect for that. I heartily!! recommend the Ellipse.

Well built and solid like a rock.
Wanted something that would exercise my legs as I have neuropathy in my feet and it affects my balance. I have a treadmill and indoor bicycle but wanted something portable that I can move from room to room and even take outside in the summer. This unit is very well made and simple to use. It's built like a tank and weighs in at a little under 30 pounds. Whisper quiet with 8 resistance levels it has a handle for transporting and bungee straps to secure the pedals. What I really like is that it uses no household electricity, only 2 AA batteries to power the readout display. Resistance comes from a magnetic flywheel for smooth and quiet operation. I recommend it highly. It's over 200 bucks. but well worth it. There is a lot of junk out there for under 100 dollars that weigh in at 10 pounds that'll fall apart not long after you get it. Go for it!

Best purchase I've made EVER from Amazon! Desk cycle
I bought this after reading several reviews and researching similar products and I'm absolutely thrilled with this purchase! FOR REAL! It fits under my home office desk and I truly pedal all day! I have a crushed hip from a car accident years ago and my mobility is limited, yet, I wanted to find a way to increase my daily steps for weight loss while also helping increase my mobility. This desk cycle truly fits my needs. The old traditional pedal cycles caused me so much pain that I gave up and actually hindered my mobility progress years ago. If only this had been available back in 2008.. it IS whisper quiet, literally no sound! It's resistance strength goes from 1 to 8, but I have kept it at 2 and 3 as I've only had the cycle for 2 weeks. On 3 I truly have burning thighs and calves at the end of my work day. The highest steps in a day I've recorded so far is 9000. It is heavy in my opinion so I don't move it around.. but I don't need to. The pedals were the only parts needed to be put on with 2 screws each and the tool was included. The actual pedaling is very easy and smooth. No risk of joint injury at all. It arrived packaged extremely well! No way it could be damaged in shipping. The box does show what's in it so if this is a gift you will need to keep that in mind. It truly is the best money I've spent! I depend on product reviews when I purchase anything, but especially something like this so I'm giving my true and honest opinion. I WISH I was part of some reward thingy for writing this review, but I'm not.. but is the manufacturer ever wants a satisfied customer to speak on this product I am definitely the one!

Worth every penny
This exercise machine is perfect. I use it under my desk and it also serves as a foot rest when not using. It is ultra quiet. Its fine if on lowest tension setting, but once I increase the tension, it requires something to stop my chair from rolling back. There are several options for this on amazon though.

Excellent quality, quite heavy though
I really enjoy the amount of tension this has and that it allows backwards pedaling! It's nice to get various muscles engaged depending on foot position. Very easy to assemble - note that the pedals have to be pushed down into the arm though (I struggled with this at first and initially thought the screws were too short but they weren't lol). Literally just put the pedals on, 4 screws, plug in and mount the display on the front of the machine, peel the sticker off the gear window, and you're good to go! Very comfortable too - I'm using a chair that rolls on a vinyl floor and it's still comfortable and usable! Completely silent, the reviews don't lie there. Definitely worth the purchase to help with restlessness while working at a desk. They made it very consumer friendly. Great job!

Fabulous!
So very happy I bought this. I bought this particular one because it looked sturdy and wouldn't fall apart after a few revolutions. It is sturdy. Very. So, it weighs quite a bit, and when you are trying to get it into the right spot under desk, it may take a bit of effort. But, it means it doesn't slide around when you are using it. The varying degrees of resistance means there is a setting for pretty much anyone who uses it, and it's easy to change the resistance setting as needed. It caters for little feet and big feet. When I am using it, it is so quiet it doesn't interfere with the audio of teams meetings. Because it's there under the desk, you almost can't help but use it. I was worried that I would have to keep pushing it out of the way when I wasn't using it and drag my foot rest back in, but I have found that when I am not actively using it, the peddles are in just the right spot and height to act a foot rest. I have recommended this to friends of mine, and am happy to stand by that recommendation.

Amazing on every level.
This device was easy to assemble. It's easy to use. It does not require a power source. It runs completely silent. The foot pedals are extra wide and you get a different work out based on whether your feet are in a forward or rear position on the pedals. Step count is slightly inaccurate for your fitbit. My fitbit blaze has an elliptical setting, and I find the numbers are most accurate if I wear the fitbit using an ankle strap, but you probably won't see perfect 100% recorded cycles. However, despite that I find this workout more rewarding than using my treadmill. The treadmill workout was hard on my joints (essentially just lifting and lowering your legs in place). This gives me the exercise I want while watching my shows. I cannot get over how quietly it cycles--it makes zero noise. I couldn't be more satisfied with the device. With winter on the way I'm so glad to have this in place. You might also want to invest in a good pair of sandals or house loafers as simply wearing socks while pedaling against the molded pattern in the plastic can be a bit irritating. Overall though, this was an A+ purchase and cheaper than the more popular Cubii.
