Drummer Timberkit

Difficult to assemble. Instructions could use imprvement. Rely less on pictographs and provide some clarification in English (or applicable language). And most important; tighten up the clearences. The parts are too loose fitting to hold themseles in place instead of following your glue covered fingers.5 stars for coolness. 2 stars for workmanship leaving two stars worth of potential for improvement.I defiantly would not expect anyone younger than 12 to enjoy assembling this model.I'd buy again for the end product but there is no joy in the assembly.

My son is a band director. When I came across Timberkit's charming little band members I knew I had found a new hobby. Once assembled you can paint, stain, or leave plain. Crank them up and watch them play.

Easy to put together. Everything moves. Additionally can be customized by burning the wood, or staining it, which I did. Looks great and is a lot of fun to play with.

This is a good kit: good instructions, pieces fit and durable. The recipient finished it in one day. As for playing with it, there is only a handle to crank, and it doesn't stay in place that well. The real point of a toy like this is the assembly.

Well made, great instructions, easily assembled. Even includes glue and wax pencil for lubricating wood where needed. I'll be buying more.

Have as a gift. He loved it!

Great toy! My children are excited for something that is not on the screen of a kindle. They asked me to purchase the whole band.

Great fun to make. Good design and clear instructions. Difficult to go wrong - just bring a ruler, a moist cloth and patience. Some tips:Tear out the page identifying the parts and keep it with the trays - it'll save you flipping back and forth in the instruction book.Dry-fit every stage first.Use the non-guard edges of the guard cards to scrape off excess glue.Trust the glue - it goes off very firmly in about 5 minutes. Don't overdo it so it squidges out everywhere. You should be able to make two kits on one tube.Don't forget to check that the head is angled upwards on the dowel so you put the eyes, nose and mouth on the correct side.The bass drum is supposed to hang over the front of the base. At least, I hope so...

Service was good as package arrived when promised. Hasn't been opened yet as it's for a birthday to come but hopefull will be intact.

I received this for Christmas as I am a bit of a fiddler and like to build things - this is right up my street!The Timberkits - Drummer - Wooden Model Kit was packaged well and the instructions neatly placed in the box. Putting together was a joy and instructions very clear. All of the parts are made well and I did not experience some of the inconsistent quality issues other reviewers have found - the final product looks good, works well and gives me a sense of achievement every time I get it off the shelf!I would definitely buy again from the same seller and currently looking at there other offerings for my next challenge.
