I didn't realize I was so hungry for the Word. Reading is one of my favorite pasttimes but as a single woman, reading to gain wisdom for the future and dreaming for an ideal, I devoured this book. It is outstanding, offering scathingly realistic problem scenarios that seem utterly hopeless, and miraculous Biblical hope that can only come from God. The book outlines the difficult but neccessary work required to stay married and surmount obstacles to emerge stronger and deepen the bond of marriage. A richly blessed life is possible, when you hold the hand of God and cry out to Him for help.

Went through this book with my fiancee and I will admit I didn't really feel as though the questions were that great, they were very general and didn't seem to focus in at times and then others were too pointed. Not that this is necessairly a bad thing but be prepared to have discussions after going over the questions as some of your answers to them can provoke arguments. However, we enjoyed the read none the less and after answering the harder questions we grew closer. Not meant to discourage you, just be prepared.

My wife and I have read many marriage books and this is by far the best one. It is so, so good. I have bought it several times now and even used it for a guide to pre-marital counseling. Marriages are healthier when you have the right expectations and learn to come together in life. This book deepens your appreciation for all God intended when He gave us the gift of marriage.

Great book to work through stuff with your spouse.

This is one of the best books on marriage that I've read, and I've read quite a few. Those who are angry at this book for having too many words are missing out on the journey of transformation. I've had that frustration with other books, but not this one. The words are powerful and useful, not repetitive or "trash" as one reader wrote. I beg of you, lay down your pride and read this book with an open heart!!

This is a fantastic book which has helped my wife and I find common vocabulary to issues that arise in our marriage. It is a great resource for simply "bettering" the marriage, as it opens up discussion with creative questions. It was a great tool for us, as it dealt with a lot of current and cultural issues that have confused marriages here in the US.
