Lixit Bracket Mount and Stake Retractable Leash Tie Outs for Dogs (Bracket, Small)

We got this to take our 45 lb Labradoodle to the beach and it worked perfectly for our needs. The cap for hammering does pop off if you aren't careful, but otherwise it's great!

The Lixit Bracket Mount and Stake Retractable Leash Tie Out (Medium) is a real handy tool for us dog owners down here. It gives our pups room to roam while keepin' 'em safe and sound within their boundaries. The retractable feature is a nice touch, makin' it easy to adjust as needed. Installing it was a breeze, and it's built sturdy enough to handle our playful dogs without a hitch. Overall, it's a reliable choice for keepin' our furry friends safe during outdoor adventures. The Retractable Tie Out is really nice. I have the medium size for my 50lb old Basset Hound. I agree with the other reviews that the retraction is too strong, it is constantly pulling on him but he doesn't seem to mind too much. The item seems sturdy and works well. Removing the tieout from the packaging was a nightmare. The twist ties are so tight and large they are difficult to cut - I thought I was going to loose a finger. There is a plastic cap to protect the pointed end of the tie out, it was very difficult to remove as well. The "reflective" blue sticker is poorly applied - it was already peeling off and full of bubbles. The whole unit is black - I think the unit would be better in a bright neon color so you can see it in the yard and not trip over it or run it over with the lawn mower. The cable length is 20feet so it gives the dog a large area (40 across) area to roam.

I didn’t like the chain laying in the yard. Worried about the mowers running over it or me tripping on it. This took care of it. So far it works great. No complaints. There is no leader to it. I purchased a 10 foot chain to connect to it so it can reach the door so I don’t have to go outside every time I want to hook my pup up to it. Perfect set up.

This product only lasted about a month before the plastic sheathing on the cable starts disintegrating and locking the rewind mechanism up. Was able to pull loose once, shave plastic sheathing back and return to using. Within 2 days after, locked up internally and had to throw away. Waste of money.

This was super easy to install. It stayed in place with my 70 lb coon hound pulling at it.I'm replacing it in just over a year due to how much the plastic wrapped wire has frayed in this time period. It's barely holding on by a thread.

I purchased the "small" size of this product and it has worked well so far. I have been using it every morning for the last 2 weeks. My dog is about 20 pounds and not very aggressive so I don't know how well this product would hold up if you dog is prone to pulling, but for gentle use it works great! I love the retractable feature because I didn't want a long cable that my dog would get tangled up in. This cord is great and is never tangled! I am happy with it so far.

I have purchased 4 of these….two single ones, then this pack of two, and they all fairly quickly ended up the same…..as a tangled mess of cable laying on the ground because these things no longer retract. Both my dogs are small at about 7 pounds and 15 pounds, and neither of them pull on their leashes, and rarely even extend their leashes to the end. The first two I purchased just simply stopped retracting after a little over two weeks. I continued to use these dirty, ugly tangled messes until I just could not stand it anymore. I purchased the 2 pack this time with better hopes for a better experience, for some unknown reason. Unfortunately, neither of the new ones lasted as long as the first ones after very, very light use. I had to share my awful experience with this product! The concept sounded awesome, but the actual products are really garbage, and I’m hoping some folks will skip their purchase of these drastically inferior products, and save the money, time, and frustration. So many people reviewing this product have had experiences similar to mine which cannot be a coincidence. I am rating this product Two Stars…..One star for each week your pet will get to use these. Perhaps the answer is just to buy retractable leashes, and mount them to our house….many of those seem pretty durable, and cost a fraction of the price of these!

I loved the idea of tying my cat to this but unfortunately my cat isn’t strong enough. Returned it.

Unfortunately the tension was way to strong for my 13lb dog

Very well made. Very sturdy. Easy to install. Safe. It wasn’t for me though as I didn’t like the jerk it gave my dog when it reached the end of its run. I would advise you use a harness.

A lot of places want on leash dogs and this is a great middle ground. Lets them ‘wander’ a little and be near us and safely on leash.
