Line 6EX-1 Expression Pedal

I could have spent well over $100 on a different brand expression pedal. I see the high quality, utility grade, plastic construction as a positive. It cuts the weight of the pedal by 2 thirds, allowing me to carry it in my pod 500X carry bag with ease. A little Liquid Wrench With Teflon, sprayed on the hinges, will keep it operating extremely smooth.

I bought this to use with the Line 6 POD HD500. I use the built-in pedal for changing different paremeters in the POD such as the gain of an amp, wah, or changing the mix of delay as I play. I use the EX-1 as a volume pedal. It is a little stiff feeling at first, but does work fine. After using the POD HD500 with two pedals, I wouldn't want to go back to using only the built-in pedal. Using the EX-1 really does open up a new bag of tricks! The EX-1 is very much worth every penny. I easily found a new one through Amazon that was below $50. For all of the possibilities that the EX-1 unlocks, you can't beat the price.

I own both a Line6 M9 and an M13 and am using it with the M9 to control the pitch slide and some other effect parameters. The pedal works fine, but it seems like an awful lot of money for something so light and plastic. I would have preferred the heft of a more robust housing, especially considering how bullet proof both the M9 and M13 are. This all said, this pedal works as advertised and might be worth the price if you don't want to take the chances on whether a non Line6 expression pedal will work with your equipment.On a related note, keep in mind that this pedal does not have a toe switch. In other words, you have to enable the effect on whatever unit you are using this with, and then use this pedal to control the parameter. I specify this for those thinking it will work to control a wah effect. It will, but you won't have the ability to turn the wah on and off from this pedal as you would a classic wah or even some of the Line6 floor pods that have a built in pedal and have a toe switch.

I just got this product because I have a line6 M5 on my pedal board. The price is good and the product is working well BUT it is a low quality pedal no question about it! It is a pity that Line6 do not offer better qualityexpression pedals. So in the end of the day as for value for money I guess it a good purchase. Although line6 products could work with other pedals I assume this pedal should give the best results. If you don’t mind spending more money check other pedals.

I've wanted one ever since I got my Line 6 Shortboard. It works just fine alongside it, replacing the volume function of the built in pedal.There are a couple of things I don't like about it however, but these are rather minor observances and doesn't detract from the function of the pedal itself:1: The pedal itself is all black, and not black with silver trim, as is the pedal on the board itself. Not a problem a little silver paint can't handle.2: the size of the pedal is a bit smaller (shorter) than the one on the board.3: The included patch cord is a bit longer, so the pedal kinds of slides all over the place.4. The texture of the EX-1 pedal is unlike the pedal on the Shortboard.Other than the ...it's got a nice response to it, and it works great!

I'm not sure why everybody is complaining about this being made out of plastic. This is made out of a high quality plastic that resembles the plastic that is used in high quality carrier tote's or the plastic that is used in recycled pellets and benches that you would find in a park. This I believe this will last for many years of use. However I would not use or would not designed to be used for a on stage production show but for home use I find nothing wrong with this product.

Product arrived today which is great .. 6 days ahead of shipping date .. even better .. after opening the box and looking at the product I was amazing that it was constructed in plastic and considering how well all my other Line6 products are built it was a little disappointing .. but to keep thing in perspective I believe the price is great compared to NZ price and if its a Line6 product I'm sure it will perform fine.

I suppose it's possible that Line 6 could have made a cheaper piece of crap than this pedal, but they would have had to put some real thought into it. Completely plastic build, right down to the input jack. That jack was rather tight and required a bit of force to get the included cable to connect properly. Needless to say, the cable was as cheap a the pedal it came with, and the plug end snapped to the side as I tried to force it in. I then tried the other end of the cable, with the same result.The motion of the pedal itself, whose plastic inner gear was dripping with some kind of pink gelatinous lubricant, can best be described as "hitchy."The pedal is short, so that your toes will likely poke over the end by 4-6 inches.I removed the four rubber feet so that I could velcro the pedal into my pedalboard. With this change, the pedal profile is so low that I could't be sure when I had actually reached "heel down" position.In use with my DL4 delay unit, the effect is more weird than entirely useful, but that's not this pedal's fault.$50 doesn't get you much nowadays, if you're a musician.

Cumple con las expectativas; el tacto es un poco diferente a otros pedales de expresión, pero te acostumbras con el uso.

Billiges Gehäuse! Schlechte Verarbeitung! Bei einem Preis über 70€ nicht akzeptabel. Pedal hat letztens bei der Bandprobe einfach den Geist aufgegeben. Hab es nur als Volumenpedal für meine Helix benutzt, also wirklich keine Beanspruchung. Da bin ich von Line 6 besseres gewohnt. Amazon, wie kann ich hier die Gewährleistung in Anspruch nehmen?
