Ming: 50 years that changed China

Wonderful! This was my favourite ever exhibition at the British Museum, surpassing even the superb Pompeii and Herculaneum exhibition last year. This book is profusely illustrated, and the hardback I found better than the softback, not only for its durability but because it has the beautiful reproduction of part of the magical eleven foot long painting by Xia Chang 'Spring Rain on the Xiang River', one of the exhibition highlights, as its endpapers which the softback doesn't.

excellent text, very good illustration and very informative about the 50 year period 1400-1450. the only drawback was very small print about the illustrations
