This is our second purchase. The first one sold the second! Like the upgrade and the case option.
I really like Mike after talking to him a couple of years ago when purchasing our first teleprompter. If you look at their company videos, they make some cool stuff and a great USA manufacturer and family company. This time around we ordered the optional case and liked that it was laid out in a compact way. To match the other equipment cases, I went to Harbor Freight and got this: Voyager 18 In. X 6 In. X 13 In. Black Aluminum Case. I brought it home and except for a couple of small color differences, it is the same case. Even though I could have just bought the case separately, I liked the ease of ordering them together, knowing a proven solution. The additional shoe connections are a great upgrade and the size of the glass provides a professional setup. Well made!Software: PromptSmart Pro and PromptSmart Studio are awesome app options. They are coming out with iCast which allows you to store scripts in the cloud. PromptSmart Studio is a truly professional option.Bottom Line: I would recommend this product to my mother and professionals. I tried DIY solutions etc before getting this teleprompter and they failed to meet expectations. Invest in this. USA made, USA supported, class act, hard to find support in the modern day.

Excellent
This is an excellent product. It would be even better if there was a pad on the camera mount, it is just a bare piece of steel and my camera is not cushioned on the bottom. I just improvised a gasket. It could also use adjustable arms on the platen which holds the computer or iPad or phone. As it is, my HP Spectre 13 sits right on top of the two end arms. Works perfectly, just hope no one runs into it.Also, the mount for the camera is only at 90゚ when it is extended fully. If you lower it there's a small lip which kicks it out so it is angled down just a hair. It's not really a problem, and another gasket, or washers, would solve it easily. (I may just remove the lip.)I was able to get everything nice and tight all around so it's a stable system, and well engineered. Buy 'Merican.

Decent lightweight prompter if price beats durability for you.
The beam splitter mirror in this is excellent. The whole unit works as designed. The only issues are that it’s mostly moulded plastic and it feels like under any kind of constant use, things could easily start breaking off. I’m using it as a fixed desktop prompter for zoom meetings, and in a fixed installation, I suspect it’s going to be robust enough to last many years - so it’s a fine solution for that. But it’s probably not going to be durable as any type of field rig.The price is totally fair for the level of quality, tho, so if you understand you’re trading durability for price - this is a great “just add an iPad or big phone” solution for good lightweight prompting.

So happy with this
I was a little skeptical of this teleprompter considering that there are a lot more expensive ones available. And I considered making one myself but I’m very glad I did not. I’m a mechanical engineer and I’m impressed by how simple but rigid the set up is. It comes with a really nice case with foam inserts. The glass is great quality and the attachments to the tripod and the camera are really good. I think if you had a bigger lens or needed more space for a larger camera you could extend the rails as they are of a standard size. I used these for a couple of shoots and I have been very happy. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Very Useful Product - Handle with Care
If you shoot interviews and presentations, this is going to be a lifesaver. I just did use it with a client. Normally a "perfect" take should take at least 3 hours for a 3-minute speech. With this tool, you can tremendously improve the time. Very easy to use with any apps available in the market. (There are free ones too)One Caution though, please handle with care. The clamps are plastic. But it comes with a sturdy box. There are a bit cheaper products available that come with the carrying bag. I would recommend buying this one with the optional box. It may give more life to the actual product that needs to be handled with care.

Small Troubles
Everything this theleprompter does works fine EXCEPT the reason I purchased it compared to others. I have a large IPad. When I put it in the holder I would have to have a bigger room to zoom past the IPad. That defeated what I bought it for. Make sure you have the camera cover positioned 100% properly. It is easy to have to show up in the camera shots. A little disappointed but not enough to send it back.

Just about perfect!
I got mine with the optional case, and it is just perfect. I had to return a different, more expensive model, because my 12.9” iPad Pro wouldn’t fit, but this one is perfect. It comes well packed, and is just a very well designed and sturdy device. It is honestly so much nicer, and lighter than I was expecting for the price. I added a couple of QR plates: one for attaching to my tripod, and one for attaching my camera and it all works beautifully. The prompter also has a second mirror detent for use when shooting wider angle for full length videos. Highly recommended!

Great split beam teleprompter
For $159 ($207 with the case), this is a good value for a split beam teleprompter. I put one of my Manfrotto quick release plates on the mounting bracket and I am ready to go. there was no assembly. The unit comes with a C-clamp iPhone holder and the L-Bracket has an offset so you can center the iPhone lens. This is good thinking.Only suggestion I would offer is that the plastic tablet tray would be better if the arms were adjustable so any size tablet would be secure. I use a Surface Pro as my delivery device.
