Review: Great Camera, have shot with Olympus since the 70s, always well designed, light and well built - Olympus always had a leg up on its competition when it came to building smaller lighter cameras designed for the professional starting with the OM-1. When my competitors were buying Nikon's and Canon's, I invested with Olympus, and it was always a good investment. Less expensive, well-made, professional quality and quality optics. This camera is a tank, but its small, light and responds well. It feels really comfortable in my hands, I mean really well like it was designed for my hand. Like anything in digital now, markets are tight, Olympus was sold, but a going concern under a new company. but I hope they keep making cameras because they come to the table with innovation, and a good competitive price.
Review: OLYMPUS OM-D E-M1X is Perfect - I am a semi-professional photographer and have been photographing for over 40 years. I have used Hasselblad, Canon and Olympus (M1 M2) equipment. The OMD M1X is by far the best camera that I have ever used. I was "turned-off" by the initial $3000.00 price tag but when I saw it on desertcart for $1749.00, I purchased it without any hesitation. I have absolutely no regrets - :)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will my Olympus lenses I use on my e-520 work on this camera?**
A: Yes, with an adapter ("smart" adapters were made by Panasonic and Olympus to permit communication between camera and lens).  This camera uses phase-detect autofocus in addition to the contrast-detect autofocus employed by most other µ4/3 cameras (and used by µ4/3 lenses).  The 4/3 lenses from the E-520 era are slower to focus compared with µ4/3 lenses because their motors are slower (and noisier), but you'll find the autofocus performance of the old lenses to be improved when driven by the E-M1 line of cameras compared with the E-520.

**Q: Is it possible to romove the buttery grip?**
A: Unfortunately, there is not a low cholesterol model of any Olympus cameras. Pros prefer the buttery grips, and Olympus listens. Consider rubber gloves.

**Q: Can you turn off the bluetooth?**
A: Yes, in the settings menu you can switch Bluetooth and WiFi on and off

**Q: When using manual mode, will the exposure compensation still work? Will the camera control exposure with ISO?**
A: No, when in manual on this camera the user is in control of the exposure. Exposure compensation does not work.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Soft mechanism with very accurate RAW shooting

Even though mavens claim there is no advantage to buying this over the last omd, when they reduced the price by 1/3 to $2000 I couldn’t resist even though I have nearly every omd they made. Without going into detail this camera is used for commercial listings and I’ve had problems with matching color. I shoot in RAW and the live view finder seems to catch reality color. This necessitates very little if any color correction with Lightroom. And the exposure “click” sounds like a Swiss mechanism. I’ve yet to see what this camera can do but it seems to be very user friendly.
