They were bigger then I expected but was glad for the grommet so they can be easily hung. Odors do not go completely away but I have noticed a decrease in their strength so that is a plus. Just have to remember to place in the sun as recommended once a month to air out.

One of my worst fears when having company over is that there will be a weird smell that I don't know is there because I've become accustomed to it. This gets rid of the pet smells, mustiness, etc and I know it's working because when I come back home after a day away, the house has a neutral, clean smell. I used to hide these in nooks but have found that they work better when air can flow past them, so they can absorb the odor quicker. So, it's better to put them in open-air spots where they will be more effective (I added photos so you can see what I'm talking about). Having them out is not a problem because they look good and don't draw attention to themselves. This isn't an instant cure for sudden accidents or unreasonable environments. But, keep them in open air and give them time to work (air needs to flow past them), and they will keep a normal home smelling fresh. After a few months they might slow down, at that point, leave them out in the sun for a day and they "re-charge" by releasing the odors they've become saturated with (I don't know the science behind this but I do know it works). I honestly wish more people used this stuff because I hate being stuck in someone's stinky home when visiting. And, they usually have no idea that their home has odors.

I moved into an apartment that smelled as if the previous tenants smoked 24hrs a day. I placed 1 bag I each room. After about 30 days the smell was gone but I am not sure it that is due to the 4 bath and body works candles, 6 plug in, and 2 essential oil diffusers I have all over the place. I did give it 1 week of only using the bags and I noticed a difference in my closet but that was it.

I use charcoal bags in the rental house I am living in to help with the musty smell from the old carpet. I also use the smaller ones in our cars to eliminate odors in them as well. I've been using them for over a year now and have found that I don't smell the musty smell in the house anymore and we no longer get that initial bad smell as we enter our cars anymore! These bags really work well. Just be sure to re-activate them monthly. I have already recommended them to friends and I will continue to use them forever! This is definitely an item that I will re-purchase down the road to replace mine as they age out. My only suggestion is that I'd love to see bags that also contain a nice scent!

The reviews make me wonder if this product works better on some odors than others, but I have to say the "basement smell" no longer hits me in the face when I go down to do laundry. Am going to order some for a friend! UPDATE: I still like these a lot. I need to change them out periodically, so ordered a few more sets. I rotate them, setting the "used" ones out in the sun for a day. So far, so good, as long as I stay on it! Guess that makes sense, as I haven't gotten rid of the rug or cardboard boxes that are clearly storing spores.

When i saw these pet odor eliminator bags i was skeptical. I mean its just bags of charcoal, I didn't think it would do anything but they were the cheapest long term solution so i decided to take a chance and Im really glad I did. We have a cat and her litterbox room stinks. Even with daily cleanings and keeping the door closed i could still smell it from the hallway and sometimes even from the kitchen which is about 50 feet away. I placed one of large sized bags near the litterbox and checked the next day but i couldnt tell if there was a difference. At that point i figured my suspicions were correct and they wouldnt actually work. Anyway I forgot about it and a few more days went by, then it occurred to me i couldnt smell the litterbox in the house anymore. I went in the room and i was shocked that i couldnt even smell it in there. So these things really work great it just seems you have to give it about a few days to do its thing. Great product highly recommend!

My son's car had a strong smoke odor in it and I had tried several things to mitigate it. Nothing was working so I bought these hoping they would do the trick. As far as I could tell, they didn't do anything, and I kept them in the car for 3 weeks. I don't know why they didn't work, but they didn't. I used 8 of them in the car. Maybe they only work as a mild freshener, but not for strong odors.

These little grey bags seem to be doing the trick. We had a dog temporarily with us that decided to use our livingroom carpet for her bathroom. The smell was terrible. We had tried sprays with no luck. We tred opening front door and powerful fan. . . Better, but when had to close the door. BAM! Smell overpowering. I placed 2 of the 500 bags in the room, and peace restored. There is NO smell. I have placed the larger bags in the den and kitchen, smaller bags in our closets. I have ordered more for the bedrooms.
