I Ching in practical terms.
I read this book years ago, and have reread it just recently. It puts the "Spirit of the I Ching" in terms that we can understand in our daily life. This book should be combined with the book by the same author, "A Guide to the I Ching. So many try to use the I Ching as a personal divination tool without having any understand of its underlying principles. "The Philosophy of the I Ching," and "A Guide to the I ching will not tell you how to predict the future. It will not tell you if you are going to be lucky. It will tell you who you are. If you care to listen, that is.

Excellent book for beginners, or explorers of I Ching.
Highly recommend all the books written by Carol Anthony and Hanna Moog related to the I Ching. I have been using the I Ching for over 20 years and is the best "medicine" I have found on my long journey of self healing. This book is good intro for beginners or those having questions about the symbology, language, metaphors of this ancient tool. I wish the whole humanity knew of and used this helpful tool. The other books written by Carol Anthony and Hanna Moog are invaluable in terms of the insights, and wisdom about ego complexes, etc. that cause most problems in life. I have found them very helpful in personal self healing journey, helping me recognize hidden aspects within that have played havoc with my life, along with guidance on how to deal with these tough ego elements.

An astute and insightful account of studying the I Ching
The author reveals what she personally learned by consulting the I Ching and her understanding of the hexagrams and changing lines. I found this book useful as I have been a student of the I Ching for over 12 years and it continues Ty o help immensely on my personal spiritual journey.

I would not recommend this book to the I Ching novice.
Although Carol Anthony supplies a great deal of valuable knowledge about the history and philosophy of the I Ching, it is heavily colored by her unique psychological perspective which may throw quite a curve at a fledgling. In addition, each of her books recommends reading another of her books in order to more fully understand some concepts that she begins. Following these bread crumbs, the reader can get hooked on looking for the next/other book, as well as find it difficult to divide Carol Anthony from the real I Ching.
