For the Minimalist in You.
Bose is often accused of being gimmicky, gaining their standing among consumers of audio equipment by sheer strategic merketing. I don't think Bose sounds better when compared side-by-side with other audio equipment; in fact you can probably find equipment that sound way, way better than even this $1k+ unit. What Bose sells is simplicity and small packaging. If you want minimalism, then Bose is for you. If your primary concern is the best possibe sound, regardless of the size and scope of the equipment needed, look elsewhere. Otherwise, you are going to be sorely disappointed. Bose does not publish their tech specs of their products, I suspect because if you are the sort who looks at those things, you would immediately compare to other audio makes and sneer. Remember, Bose does not sell better sound; they sell big sound in small packages. That's it--and no more. Now I am not sure if this actually costs as much as the Bose price tag would make it out to be, but the bottom-line is, how much is minimalism worth to you?Enter the Bose Acoustic Wave Music System II. A small powerful unit that can be your all-in-one CD player, radio, home theater speaker system, and iPod music player (with some added accessories). The Acoustic Wave can handle ir all with ease. I use the AUX input to connect a switcher so I can hook up my HDTV, iPod dock, and Airport Express, and presto! The Acoustic Wave serves as my all in one unit that does everything I need it to do. Watch a Blu-Ray movie and hear the sound coming from the unit, and you would swear you had a home theater sound system going. Sure, you lose as far as stereo separation goes, but the waveguide they have in this unit (almost 7 feet long, wrapped around inside) ensures thrtr is no distortion, no cracking at high volumes. For something so compact that can do all that, this unit delivers exceedingly well.So if you are a minimalist like me, and you do not want your entertainment center to be a clutter of multiple audio devices, this is a great choice. But minimalism comes at a steep price, and you have to decide if it is worth your $$$. For me, the answer is an absolute YES. To that, highly recommended.

This was Used and so was sent someone else’s peoblems
This was purchased in July but not opened until lately because it was for a special room after getting the room organized. After putting 5 cds in, it would skip cds while playing. It also skipped tracks while playing one cd. I ask for a return and was denied and said it was to be returned within 30 days. I didn’t know this but it was never played until last week

Aesthetically pleasing but needed repair
Although the Bose Acoustic Wave Music System II was aesthetically pleasing when it arrived, the CD player on the top did not work and showed evidence of coffee stains within the CD lid on top. I shipped it off to the Bose factory and had it serviced for an additional fee and it now works like new. I am displeased that I had to have it serviced right away, however, the product acts as a good replacement for a receiver and it's maze of wires.

I love the music quality, but....
I really like the music quality even though for voice there's too much bass, which results in some lack of clarity. There was no remote or instruction booklet. I'm not sure a remote control was promised but must assume it was since I'm prompted to rate it. I don't really need one anyhow. The 5-CD MULTI DISC CHANGER II DOES NOT WORK. When turned on it makes a repeating scraping sound. It won't take a CD all the way in, When I tried the CD came out with some white gunk on it. So, I can use only the one CD player on top, which defeats the purpose for which I bought it. (If the 5 disc changer worked, I'd be happy) Not nearly worth what I paid.

quality sound that pleases your hearing frequincy
this is my 3rd wave system ,quality sound pleases the accostic hearing range for everyone . noise is not a part of its design. bose is in my vehicles home and a battery pac make the system travel friendly. i choose bose for the high quality since the 1970's and can't settle other for less or more expensive less quality systems in home . in vehicle i have had to pay more money for equal to or higher quality . amps & bosters have to be added to attain sound quality. bose satifies your hearing range that hear the best and not all people enjoy the lows or highes of sound,so their systems give me my particular low hearing range that sounds the best for me and my grandkids may change to suite their range which sometimes calls for a comprimise . and most of the time they have to tell me to turn the volume down cause i enjoy the volume bose delivers without distortion or crackling noise that many systems can't deliver!

Great sound in a small package
Bose makes some very good products. I own the wave music system and have a gs cinemate 2 home theater system I purchased this unit for my living room and it fits the bill, it doesnt even look like a stereo system. I see where some reviews says it lack bass but what you hear is very clear bass and not that deep thump which is not realistic at all. I am very happy with this system without the treble and bass controls it still sounds amazing. This system is very expensive and others have said you could a better sound from a less expensive system. I say no you cant, bose wave radio and also this accoustic wave have that unique sound and there a reason why used they sell for more than most stereos. Nothing beats a bose system.

A Bose disappointment
This horrible System. Sounds cheap no bass. When you raise the volume it sounds like tun. Your are Paying for the Bose name. Very disappointed in this purchase. You are better off with a Sony stereo for the money. Plus this system has no USB. Not worth the money.
