I run marathons with this all the time.
It is supposed to be compression shorts and I think it does this pretty well. If you have a tendency to get cramps in your calves, well, obviously this isn't going to help. I had IT band issues and this helped it from flaring up during a marathon versus not having it on. The ventilator means there is a vent on the quad part of the shorts. Boy, does it ventilate. It is tiny holes makes the difference from the rest of the shorts. Great for hot weather. The sizing chart on CW-X website seems to be right on. I wear a small being that I am 5'9" tall and 150 pounds with a 32 waist size. If I had to find a complaint, it would be that maybe because of the compression bands in the shorts that make it thicker or just the shorts itself, it could be a bit tight compared to other brands of compression shorts. I don't mind that though because that is what it supposed to do. I like them and rely on them on my runs. I like it so much, I have two of them.

CW-X a must have for runners
These are my newest addition to my collection of CW-X products. I have 3 shorts and 1 tight. I think the shorts are great because they keep your stuff from moving at all. I have big thighs and the support they give is temendous both in the thigh region and the front and back areas. The new ventilator shorts have a mesh patch in the for getting more air to the legs (besides it looks cool) and that seems to be the only difference. Once you try these stabilix shorts you will never want to run in anything else. I've thrown away all other shorts - because these simply are the best invention since cushioned running shoes! Don't be fooled by the imitators with rubber straps or other sewed in materials (my running friends were sorely disappointed with them). Buy the best...buy CW-X. By the way, I do about 25 miles a week as a masters runner so I like to comment on what works.

Positives outweigh one small issue
These are the most supportive compression shorts I’ve tried. And I’ve tried them all. Others that tout medical grade compression might only cover the thighs, and then use more flexible material in the trunk. If you need support throughout the silhouette of the short, this is it. The only issue I have is this mesh fabric they have in the groin area. It’s meant to ventilate heat, but man, did they have to use the most uncomfortable fabric here? It’s noticeable at rest and almost itchy. I wish they had skipped the ventilator thing and just used the same material as the rest of the short.

Personal opinion!!!!! This is the best I have ever used!!!!!
I have been searching for a few months now to replace my old UA's. I used them for about 5 years heavily to work out about 4 days a week. The new version however in my opinion is subpar to the ones I had hence the search for something else that was just as good or better. I tried a bunch of brands, Nike, UA, 2XU, MCDAVID, THERMAJOHN, NOBULL and next I was going to buy North Moore. So now I have 6 new compresion shorts and only NOBULL and 2xu were good enough for me to keep for working out now CW-X in my opinion is the best for my likings. ThermaJohn is really for everyday use but the rest of them will probably sit in the drawer and will never get used. Because North More was voted best by Mens Health Magazine I will buy a pair to try them out but I already know I will be ordering at least 2 more pairs of these CW-X. Its just the right amount of compression, it is long like at I prefer it to be and the draw string design is best to keep the wait band from rolling down although I would prefer it to be on the outside and not in. material is think but not too much, this is the first pair compression shorts I would actually wear without shorts on top as it does offer enough privacy but I won't do it just because i'm very conservative and happen to be blessed in some areas. Order these you will not regret it. These are best by far!!!!

LOVE
Bought these for my husband’s Christmas gift several weeks early. However, because I’m supremely familiar with CW-X products (been buying their leggings since 2011), I decided not to wait to give them to him. Glad I didn’t. His thigh recovery during his CrossFit competitions and tennis matches has helped him set personal records. These things work which is why I own nine pairs - from short shorts (they no longer make) to the ankle length myself. The ventilation at the thigh is a nice feature. He loves them. I’m happy about his thigh vibration being reduced with the gradient compression. His legs no longer sore. His recovery time de minimis.

Great supportive compression for hot weather running
I bought these for my husband who runs in the heat of the day in Florida. He sweats heavily and was looking to reduce the amount of clothing on his legs. He would return from long runs with shorts heavy with sweat. He was hesitant to run in these due to his modesty. Turns out, no issues with modesty; they fit great; they don't hold as much sweat; they have ventilator inserts; they are cooler; and they have the added benefit of providing compression support to his thighs that he says really makes him feel good during the run. He had no issues with chafing (although he does use Body Glide on his long runs routinely). He liked them so much he also decided to get the long running tights for colder weather running (wishful thinking here in Florida). My daughter saw them when she ran with him this past weekend. She is sad that they don't make these in womens form. Maybe soon...

Like a second skin.
I picked these up from a recommendation from a runner that I've talked to on several occasions, and after trying a pair from another company 2XU(which did not fit the way I had hoped), I decided to give these a shot. They arrived yesterday, and after trying them on, I noticed a world of difference. Firstly, they come up to me exactly as I wanted them to(I'm right around 6 feet and weigh around 195, so I need something that will not leave a gap in my nether region). These hug me like I expect to. Now, I haven't had a chance to go running in these, so I will update my review after having an opportunity to run.

Another CW-X Stabilyx Win
Me: 50+ runner all pavement, approx 20 miles weekly, stability shoe (ravenna 4) I bought my first pair of Stabilyx tights in February once I started running again after a six-year hiatus, primarily for the knee support (too many years in bad shoes and trying to gut through knee discomfort). Best thing I ever did: no knee pain; very little post-run discomfort in other parts - and that, I suspect, from age). I went ahead and filled the drawer with CW-X Experts, Pros and Ventilators, as well as a couple pair of insulators. Since I had/have such great experience with the full-length and capris, I decided to give the shorts a chance. No regrets: the shorts have great compression and ventilate well. I alternate the shorts with the full-length Ventilator tights. No knee problems to date. No binding, chafing or bad package handling.

Un essentiel pour mes genoux
J’aime vraiment ces shorts, c’est ma deuxième paire. Ils sont vraiment durables, j’ai probablement courue environs 1000km en trois ans et ils ont protégé mes genoux sur toute les distances.
