Purchased HD Switch Dual Protection Starter Ignition Key Switch. Switch looks and feels solid, comes with rubber water seal and extra keys. Seems to be an upgrade from the old ignition switch.

while this did not fix the issue id did install it but also found out the relay behind the switch was bad as well. Works like a charm now.
