Chantry D159 Replacement Steels Kit for D133

It was time to replace the steels in my Chantry, and now it works like new again. It's so important to have sharp knives when cooking. My son did the replacement for me and it did not take long at all.

This kit works perfectly in my Chantry. It harkens back to the old days before the "black steel" replacements came onto the scene.I have been using, and gifting, Chantry products for many years.'

Replaced the worn out steels on my Chantry knife sharpener. Very easy to fit. Undo the two screws under the base of the Chantry and pull out the mechanism. Pull off the old steels - looking at them displays how to fit the new ones. A useful tip is to use a small screwdriver, slide it between the spring clips and turn to open up the gap - makes sliding on the new clip very easy. The whole job takes about three minutes.

Has revitalised my old blades. Easy to replace but no instructions. All you have to do is unscrew the bottom and pull the mechanism out. Persuade the blades to pull upwards (may be a bit stiff). Then look at the new blades. One end of the clip is slightly wider than the other. This slides back down (otherwise it won’t work). Repeat with the other one. Put back into knife sharpener and enjoy

The instructions aren't 100% clear, but did say that it was important to fit them properly. The sliders are more open at one end than the other, so slipped on from that end & held tight. When all was fitted back in place the sharpener really worked.There is a bonus. The sharperner is a pair of steels braced against each other, so the individual steels have only become blunted in the middle. By holding them between thumb & forefinger, they have become 'his & hers' matching pocket steels in our gardening coats for when the secateurs blunt..... just don't use the middle bit!

As replacement sharpening heads, they fit the machine perfectly and I back sharpening again!!

These replacement steels were an absolute doddle (less then 5 mins) to replace and are an exact replacement for the original steels. They sharpen the knives just like the originals did when new. Really happy ith these and will order again when more replacements are needed.
