I confirmed what other reviewers stated about this product. The provided screwdrivers (at least the tri wing) do not help to get the job done. I unscrewed 3 tri wings before the tool rendered itself useless. Had I kept trying using it, had I damaged the head of the screw making it almost impossible to unscrew it afterwards (considering that this was not my first time opening the joycon, since I had to replace the stick in one of them). I then simply did not consider to use the other. So, I ordered an extra set of screwdrivers from Amazon (image attached) that were the ones I used the last time. These I assure you are suitable for the job.Having said that...The latches work perfectly well and now both joycon remain latched in place.I don't mind I had to buy the extra set, because what I needed was the latch replacement. Consult a YouTube video before making the operation.I would definitely recommend this product, just keep in mind the dodgy screwdrivers included.Attached the pictures from before and after, the removed plastic latches and the screwdrivers I used. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Good service but don’t do it... *by L***7 on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 October 2019* Great idea if the screwdrivers will undo the screws in your console. The screws are now rounded and basically f*!# Unfortunately for us it was a chance we took after reading previous reviews and it failed.I feel it’s a design flaw in the console itself and not this replacement. The screws are put in so tightly the hulk wouldn’t have undone them!!Don’t waste your money trying. And most importantly, seriously reconsider buying said console to start with. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for fixing Nintendo’s mistake *by M***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 April 2019* I can’t comment on the quality of the screwdrivers supplied, as I used ones from elsewhere after reading numerous posts regarding poor quality screwdrivers supplied with these kits, however the latches themselves seem to be spot on.Nice and easy to swap out in under 10mins, with just 6 screws to remove. The main points to take a little extra care with are when separating the two halves of the controller, as they have x2 ribbon cables connecting them, and also when removing the old latch, as there is a little spring inside it which needs to be transferred over to the replacement.When you look at the design of the console itself, it does make you wonder why Nintendo didn’t make these latches metal in the first place. The rails on the console are metal, with relatively sharp edges around the latch cutout, so it’s no surprise that the plastic latches are prone to getting damaged.If you’ve got issues with your joy cons not staying locked into the rails, then I would recommend this simple fix.You do get x2 sets of latches, so if the metal one does go at some point, you have another spare for each joy con.
