positive healing for all readers
I liked the use of color to express meaning and the simple language. Good for young and old alike. Book can be used to show and teach emotion.

Love this book
I know this is meant as a children's book, but I love it as well. The heart is a complicated thing, and changes all the time, from day to day, from hour to hour. And that's okay. The book is simple, thoughtful, and reassuring. I wt'sell written, and I really like the illustrations.

A work of art
The first time I read this book, I wasn’t as impressed with it as I was with the author’s first book, “the book of mistakes” (I love love that book). The colors used in this book are much darker than the colors in the other book, and if you want a book that would make you “happy”, this is not the book for you. This book is about our inner world and the whole spectrum of human emotion. It’s a good reminder that life is not just about being “happy”, and it’s ok to feel sad, angry, or any other emotions. This book is about opening our heart, which I think means being open to changes and to what life is giving us at this moment whether it’s happiness, rage, shame or any other feelings.....It’s important to connect with our own heart first before connecting with others. It’s a work of art, and should be read multiple times and at a slow pace. Every time I went back and looked at the illustration, I always found something new and interesting that I hadn’t noticed before. I enjoy reading this book and highly recommend it.

A beautiful way to talk about feelings
I don't normally bother with reviews, and I certainly don't review kids' books, because y'all got it covered. But this one, oh my.First of all, I will fully admit that I bought this for myself. I knew from a couple of photo previews that I was going to love it.I read it with my six-year-old daughter tonight, and when we got to the end, she had this wonderful, gentle smile ... She looked so empowered. And then she started going through the book, to show me how most of the time her heart is like this page, but sometimes her heart is like that page, and then other times her heart is like this other page. She identified immediately with the imagery in this book, and it gave her a way to talk about her heart.I would not be surprised if in the future, she comes home from a frustrating day at school and pulls out this book to help explain how she feels. I'm so happy to have this around.

Beautiful story for any and all ages
My Heart is one of those treasures that earns a spot on the coffee table or any space that families and friends gather. It is a treat to watch someone casually pick it up to leaf through and then-WHAM! Knowing looks are shared...smiles, maybe a tear...it is all good.

Beautiful illustrations
The illustrations in this book are absolutely stunning (and consistent with what you see on the cover). I am giving this book 4 stars simply for the gorgeous artwork. Unfortunately, I was a little underwhelmed with the text. While it has a soft and pretty tone to it, I think it’s a little too abstract for most young children. Honestly, it was a little too abstract for me as an adult. As a mom and educator, I think this book is best-suited for children ages 5+. It requires the ability to understand somewhat abstract concepts, and to discuss them. Regardless, I enjoy reading it just for its beauty!

Beautiful!
With every read, this book breaks me open and heals! Truly a balm to children and the child in us all - especially living in and through these difficult times. In addition to the beautiful and loving words, the drawings are stunning! Bravo to the author and illustrator! Highly recommended!
