Birds of Connecticut Field Guide Paperback – January 1, 2000

I am a retired elementary school teacher who was introduced to this book by an Audubon instructor. The kids in my first grade classroom loved looking up the birds that came to our feeders. I gifted each child a copy at the end of the year. It gives just enough information about the birds and the photographs are just beautiful.

This is the very best, and most practical book to quickly identify birds. The color coding tabs are genius.

Beautiful photos of birds, easy to use color guide, small size of book makes it convenient to carry. Helpful for teaching my young grandchildren about local birds.

The media could not be loaded.  I love this little bird book! I bought used and didn’t know what to expect but it arrived quick and in good shape. Price was also great!

I bought my first copy of this book for my classroom, to help students identify the birds that came to our classroom feeder. Now I've bought another copy for home use. It doesn't cover ALL the birds that we see, hence the loss of a star, but it definitely hits the most common visitors. What I like most is its user-friendly color ID system. While the more complete birders' guides definitely have their place, this is the book I use for figuring out "what on Earth is that black, white, and red bird at my feeder?" (Answer - a male Rose Breasted Grosbeak!) If this book can't tell me the answer, then I'll go hunting and pecking through Sibley's. Luckily, I don't often have to resort to that!

Just bought a bird feeder for my in-laws. They love it and now spend time identifying all of the birds in their yard. The pictures are beautiful and clear and each page gives just enough clear information that you really learn something. We may get our own. A must for the bird watcher in your life.

This book was just what we needed! Easy to find birds because it is broken into sections based on the color of the bird! And great full color pictures of the male and female of each specie (not drawings, actual photos). Just love it! I have purchased if for not just my household but also for my niece and nephew!

Great tiny field guide for anyone who wants to be able to learn a little bit more about the birds at your feeder. My husband and I play games now to who can guess the name of the bird. We test our bird knowledge all the time. We love watching the birds, and have become avid bird lovers. This book is perfect for anyone wanted to learn a little bit more about their backyard feathery friends!

My son has moved to a rural location in Connecticut and I got this to bird spot with my grandchildren. They now know the names of several garden visitors. The book is easy to use and the photos great for kids.
