2nd or 3rd to infinity
Like others have said, L'Oreal if you're reading this, us curly girls have been missing this. Don't discontinue this or change the formula or anything. Larger sizes would be appreciated if its feasible. Add a pump or put it in a squeezy tube . IDK. If not that's okay. The Jelly, ITS A KEEPER. I will always buy. I like this because the application allows for volume, even after 'scrunching out the cast' with very little if any frizz. With me, with fine, dry hair there is always frizz. NOT WITH THIS PRODUCT. Great definition so I guess there is light moisture. You can feel product if used heavily though its not needed. For me there no need to refresh, just ' wake n shake'. There is no greasy 'tangled hair' feel. I can tolerate that. LOVE THIS2/1/23: Garnier website says discontinued. WHHYYYY? On to the next. Such a shame

This Jelly is Heaven sent
When using this product, I highly recommend it be used on dry to damp hair that is close to dry. To get the desired curl you want, no additional product is needed, as additional products applied to the hair before use could cause your hair to have white flakes.Only a small amount of product is needed for your curl definition/pattern to manifest itself, you can feel free to add more as needed. This product is great as a wash and go style for African American hair.On a rating scale from 1-5 with, 5 - highly recommended and 1 - don't recommend. I personally give this product a 5 based on my experience and, for the price and definition it gives. This product is on the same tier as the Miss Jessie's Coily Custard, which is one of my favorite go to hair staples, you get 2 oz more and save $10 bucks when compared to Miss Jessie's Coily Custard. This product is very light weight and does not leaves white residue when applied as recommended.WARNING!!!! If your hair is drenched in water, this product will not work, just like any other product out there. Again, I recommend applying this product on dry hair or damp hair that is close to dry.

Best Gel to keep curls defined all day!
I've recently started doing the Curly Girl Method since the beginning of June and I've gotta say that this gel works wonders for me. After I get out of the shower and put this gel in my hair the curls stay like I want them to stay all day. People complain about how the gel leaves your hair crunchy. In my own opinion I think my hair looks better with the crunch and no one touches my hair so I don't care about someone touching my hair and feeling it crunchy. I sometimes "scrunch out the crunch" whenever I feel that it's needed for my hair. But it's your own choice and seeing if you and your hair look better with the crunch. Since the first ingredient on this product is water when I'm on my second day I just spray water into my hair and the water causes the gel to reactivate since the first ingredient is water. Then after spraying water into my hair I just grab a quarter size gel and put it on one side of the hair and then the other. ***If any of your hair products have the first ingredient to be "water" then if you add water to your hair they will reactivate***

Type 4a/4b black woman looking for a cheaper kinky curly custard alternative - this works.
Title says it all. My go to product is kinky curly custard for a wash and go hairstyle. I want a gel that provides strong control and curl definition without smelling awful, or feeling sticky or crunchy later. And flaking is a deal breaker.Like most black women I've tried a ton of products and been frustrated because most are not really meant for black women. I love kinky curly custard but it is really expensive and during the pandemic, while I work from home and people can only see me on zoom, I figured it was as good a time as any to do some experimenting and find a cheaper alternative. I tried this jelly and a garnier fructis sculpting cream gel. The cream gel basically felt like no product on my hair at all so that was out. THIS jelly on the other hand gave me almost the same effect as the kinky curly. The hold isn't quit as good and when you first put it on the smell is way stronger. But the smell goes away once dry. There is no feeling of stickiness, crunchiness or flakes with this jelly. Be advised if you have thick afro hair then just throw out the directions. I put a fairly health amount on sopping wet hair because there is absolutely no way "a small amount on damp hair" is going to make defined curls with my hair. But it works and I think I have my 2nd choice gel for wash and go hair.

Maybe not for 4c natural hair
I tried this on my short TWA and I dont think it helped to make my hair better defined. It may be more suited to other hair types. I dont want to say anything bad about this product because, if I am not the target demographic for this product, It wont suit my needs, but it might be helpful to others. Garnier always makes great products and I have no doubt that anyone without hair like mine, will benefit from this product. It smells great. Its feels slimy and thick. (which is why I thought it would be great for me in the first place). It should help define finer hair. But it did not do anything for my 4c natural hair at all. not even shine.
