I've tried all kinds of algae removers from brushes, magnetic scrubbers, and water treatments but nothing was as effective, quick and easy to use as this algae scraper to remove the algae on my tank walls. The blade is very sharp so care must be taken when installing or changing it. It is so sharp that it generally takes only one pass on the tank wall to scrape off that ugly green spot algae, significantly cutting my cleaning time. The algae scraper feels like it's made of solid metal - heavy and strong - and the handle is long enough that I was able to scrape the back wall of my 110g tank with ease. It took 2 blades to finish the job but 10 blades are included so that's a non-issue. This is a must-have for any aquarist.

I have those magnet eraser and i also use credit card but this adjustable tool gave me the best result without the need for your hands to get wet thus removing the chance to contaminate the water or make your hands dirty. I wish i have known this product all these years! It got a lot of replacement blade too which will last you the lifetime as the blade itself that ive been using for 6 months now did not rust yet.

This is a rigid stainless still rod with angled mount for standard double-edge razor blades. I have used it scrape my 46g bowfront and it works like a charm. But be careful with the blade mount, as a tiny bit a of the blade protrudes from the back side -- enough to cut you if you're not careful. Still, this is just what I needed to make my glass look new.

If you're like me and are looking for an algae scrapper for your tank, please avoid this one. This product is far superior to anything I've ever used. It's beyond sturdy and adaptable, but where this product falls short is the blades. I thought a razer blade was just a razor blade, but these are different. Unlike a normal blade being hard and stiff, these are soft and bendy. When using the product to scrape off tough algae, you'll need to make a couple of passes over the same spot as opposed to a normal blade being one pass. For that reason, I personally don't recommend buying this product unless you're able to switch out the blades for new ones!

If you tighten it enough to use there is a good chance you will need pliers to take it apart. That makes it not easy to use. Although someone with a Kung-fu grip might be able to do it. But if you are older or have arthritis, avoid this.
