LOXXSnap Fastener Lower Part Standard - Nickel

I was making a bag for a customer that asked me to do something different to the closure. I spent some time looking around at various ideas (there are some really neat locks out there now). I finally stumbled onto these LOXX Snap Fasteners. They are incredibly easy to install and look really good once they are.Each side of the connector consists of 2 pieces, just like any other snap does. The difference here is that LOXX snaps, instead of being attached through force, have a threaded body that is inserted through the material being used and a backing plate is screwed into place with a 2-prong LOXX Key.Closing the lock is simple, the base (male side) has a pin topped with a ball that holds the female side on it when closed. To open the lock, you must pull the round knob outward to release the locking mechanism inside.It is a very classy design and I am really happy I found them in time to finish the bag I was making for my customer.

SOOOooo much easier/better than your typical guitar strap locks... these have been used on tonneau covers for decades. I have been using this piece for several years to fashion my own leather versions of Loxx's new "Adapter F/O" (now being sold in Europe and South America) to get around the problem of the typical strap lock issue on an endpin jack. From what I can tell, this piece is built into those new Adapters. However, until they get to the US, this piece allows you to make your own.

As someone who appreciates both style and functionality, this LOXX closure exceeded my expectations. The chrome finish not only adds a touch of elegance to the handbags I make but is durable enough to withstand daily use. Installation was surprisingly simple, too.I appreciate the versatility of this closure, as it complements various bag styles, from a chic evening bag to waxed canvas/leather backpacks. There are four pieces to the LOXX and it cost me around $11 for the assembled piece. All pieces are purchased separately!
