John Payne has a way to easily help you understand the complex theory of Constellation work. His book makes it interesting to get into this topic and to understand the magic behind it. The many samples help to get a first impression of a constellation if you are a novice and provide wonderful solution sentences to incorporate into your own work as a facilitator of constellations.

I enjoyed this exploration of family constellations. It is clear, easy to read and has many examples of principles and work.

I found this book to be a fascinating exploration of family dynamics. The author uses dozens of case studies from Family Constellation work to show how families are affected by incidents long 'forgotten' but carried with us, consciously or not. I was especially intrigued with the impact of 'missing' people in the constellation, i.e. family members (or sometimes non-family members) who were forgotten, left out, shunned, or simply not discussed. Reading the book gave me a deeper understanding of how every member of a 'system' impacts the others, and has helped me to understand the ancestral patterns in my own genealogy. I would have given the book 5 stars, but I got a little tired hearing the author TELL people what to say in the constellation work. I'm not sure if that's the common practice (it's been a few years since I've attended a constellation workshop) but sometimes I felt it to be a bit disempowering. But that doesn't detract from the value and insights of the book. Well worth the read if you are interested in family dynamics, ancestral history, etc.

One of the best books written about the family constellation work. For those who is learning family constellation or want to understand the hidden dynamics behind their problems, this book is the best. Strongly recommend.
