3M Adhesion Promoter 4298 is a detectable primer sponge packet used for most low surface energy plastics. This would include common low surface energy plastics used for automotive dash and interior trim applications (TPO, PPO, PP, PC, PC + ABS, etc). Sponge Applicator Packet is 2.5cc per Packet (3 pack). Detectable by UV light. One packet covers approximately 150 square inches of substrate at the recommended coating thickness. Also available in larger size .47fl oz/14ml (equivalent to 6 sponge packets) marker/pen with valve action reversible applicator tip, search ASIN: B0953S3F5F. Review: Worth it just to be safe - Had to replace some fender flare that were falling off my truck. Seems to be a factory install issue. So far so good with the new tape and this adhesion promoter holding strong. Can't hurt to use just to be safe
Review: This stuff WORKS - I was skeptical about how much this stuff actually helps with 3M tape, but man, was I proved wrong. There’s a rubber seal that is supposed to be secured to the inside of my rear windshield to seal the 3rd brake light, but was designed poorly. Absolutely nothing could hold this seal to the glass. I tried every kind of double sided tape imaginable. Either the weight of the light or the heat from the car would get it off. This adhesion promoter and 3M tape finally was the thing that did it. So far it’s been holding for months. It works better than I thought it would. It dries in about a minute and is ready to take adhesive. So far I’ve secured that impossible light and my wing with the stuff and everything is still holding strong!

works great! used to prep my OEM chrome window trim before vinyl covering. started with a clean and dry surface. used a little cleaner prep wipe down then let dry before using these little wipes. simply wipe on, let dry a few minutes and the slick chrome felt super tacky and sticky. vinyl wrap went on easily and definitely doesn't peel or come off easy after using these wipes!
