I recently bought an external monitor - which doesn't display from HDMI when a control cable is connected, oops!A bit of reading around later and a Bluetooth controller appeared ideal.I'm pleased to say the reading was right... Pairing with the camera is simplicity itself (hold the shutter button and + button for a few seconds) and I have remote control of both photo & video modes - the red button is video record.The + & - buttons may be used for either manual focus control, or for zoom operation - working my power telephoto lenses and utilising the 'zoom' function on the camera for prime lenses.A bonus result - I can now also use my Sony a6700 on my gimbal (not supported for cable operation) as this little 'remote' also pairs and operates the same functions.Easy to set up, certainly 'does what it says on the tin' for both cameras - an excellent result.It also comes with a wrist loop - a minor detail, yes, but I'm sure will save it being dropped at some point in the future. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great little utility for remote use. *by R***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 February 2020* Decided to get one of these to use with the EOS-R via Bluetooth connection. Got it and with the instructions being a little vague could not figure why I could not get it to work, could get the camera to find it. Only after fettling about I found to get it to work to set the camera shutter mode to remote timer +2, In other words it will take a shot every 2 seconds if left active, but, it does shoot faster in manual trigger mode and is ideal rather than have to use the phone or a cabled trigger. Have used it to capture birds (the feathered kind) with the cam up close to a feeder and me being a few feet away out of line of sight. They sent a replacement but I paid carriage, second fine at first then same fault , two weeks and shutter button. stopped working . All the other controls zoom , movie etc continue to work so not the Bluetooth or the camera.
