My 15" laptop fits perfectly with plenty of room to spare for a wallet, keys, notebooks, and water bottle. For short trips, I use the integrated handles, but for longer trips, eg, flying or riding the train, I use the bag's dee rings to attach a crossbody strap. (I don't use the crossbody strap that came with the bag because it's too narrow and cuts into my shoulder.) This bag is a real workhorse; it carries everything I stuff into it and holds up to dirt, rain, and snow. The zipper still works beautifully, although I do lubricate it with silicone every few months.And now for the most important question: is it REAL leather? For 2 years, I have been wondering, although I have used leather conditioner on it, just in case. It has been incredibly durable, which made me think it must be leather. High-quality coated leather can look and feel like synthetic leather, but real leather wears far better and can last a lifetime. When the bag arrived, it smelled like a saddle, so at least some portion of it must be leather.Today, I decided to find out, once and for all.My bag is stamped with a "leather" texture, and all the edges are finished. The surface is coated, which is great for repelling rain/snow, but high-end synthetic leather could look and feel the same. The material is thick and stiff, so again, it could be high-quality synthetic leather with an interfacing layer.I attached a photo that shows the wear pattern around the top of my bag, and it does look like a leather wear pattern, not a synthetic "pleather" wear pattern. I wondered if the manufacturer specified leather for just the portion around the zipper, which is a little thinner than the rest of the bag, but saved money by using synthetic leather elsewhere. All of the seams are so well-finished that I struggled to find a raw surface.For a definitive answer, I pushed open the zipper end tab and visualized the raw underside. In the photo, you can see a rough surface, which proves this bag is genuine, full-grain leather. (I confirmed that the end tab is the same thickness, pattern, and color as the main body of the bag.) It does make sense that this is a genuine, full-grain leather item; it's much heavier than one might expect. (It's a lot heavier than leather totes from department stores.)I have bought a lot of leather goods over the years, both as an equestrian and as a general consumer, and this is legitimately the highest-quality, hardest-wearing consumer leather product I have ever purchased. I had wondered if I was the victim of a scam because the price was so low (just over $100 at the time), but in retrospect, this bag was, and still is, an incredible value!

I had almost given up hope of finding exactly the purse/tote I was looking for, to replace a Calvin Klein tote I had used daily for several years. My checklist included1) zippered pocket on outside (for quick but secure access to my keys). This is hard to find!2) metal feet on bottom of bag (to protect it from where I put it down). Also hard to find!3) leather for durability (I've tried vinyl and it doesn't hold up to daily use for very long)4) zippered top (for security)5) zippered pocket inside, with other pockets a bonus6) size of roughly 11" tall, (it's 12"), 15" wide, and 4 - 5" wide, to hold a LOTThis tote had all of that, plus:1) adjustable length handles (custom fit for length)2) removable cross-body strap (I don't use it, but I'm sure some will)3) Attractive color options4) inside divided into two areas (one is padded for a laptop). It's true, as other reviewers have noted, that the velcro strap for the padded laptop compartment is far too long, but it isn't a deal breaker, and actually allows me to put things in that compartment without undoing the strap. The compartment is big enough to hold 8 1/2" x 11" papers easily without folding.I chose the blue leather, which is described as "J-cross leather". It is the bonded (?) leather I have seen on other nice purses, most recently on the Calvin Kein tote I needed to replace). The regular leather is nice also (I also ordered the regular leather in black, to see if I liked it better, but returned it since I don't need two purses).I'm very pleased - just what I was looking for (and had almost given up finding. Love it!

I’m ready to toss all my other bags. I’m using this one daily, and I can tell it’s going to last for many years to come. It’s good that the design is classically stylish. The smaller strap allows me to carry it over my shoulder, with no pain or binding. I haven’t worn the longer, crossbody strap, but I did test it out, and am certain to use it when carrying heavier items. The bag holds sooooo much! I put my IPad in it, with charger and cord, a matching Bostanten wallet, my personal items like hand sanitizer, tissues, lotion, pen, face mask, etc., and I can still slide in my 32 oz water bottle. My phone slides nicely into the unzippered outside pocket, and Ive still got the zippered pocket for anything my heart desires. The bag is so easy to organize, and to keep organized, with the multiple interior pockets. There are fine details all over this bag, like the silver buckles to adjust the strap length, and the four little knobs on the bottom of the bag that allow you to set it on the ground without worrying about the wear or grime. I’m completely satisfied with my Bostanten purse and wallet, so I can put my personal recommendation here. It’s truly a standout item in my wardrobe! If you’re lucky enough to have come across this bag, you’re on the right track. Go ahead and invest in this timeless bag. I’d expect a bag like this one to cost three times the Amazon price. Absolutely Beautiful bag! Unusual to find a tote with so many, well thought out, organizational pockets. Nice thick leather. Clean stitching, good zippers. I can't find a negative about this bag. Holds my macbook, a small crossbody purse, gloves, phone, ipad, and travel mug... and there's room to spare. Top notch and elegant. I will be proud to carry it.
