Took this bag as my carry on to the UK. It’s well made, seems durable, water resistant and travel friendly. All the compartments make it easy to stay organized. It has much more space than I needed, but I was grateful to have it. The padded straps make it super comfortable to carry, especially on planes, trains and other transport. It has cinch straps on the side that help keep it slimmer if it’s not packed full. It also has a strap to fit on your suitcase handles. (I honestly didn’t need a backpack this large, but a smaller bag by this brand is quilted in front and I didn’t care for how it looked). It did not fit under the seat in front of me, but to be fair, I flew British Airways business class and the space was about half the size of typical US airlines. So it should fit domestic flights no problem. There’s a hidden side pocket which is nice. The eyeglass compartment is good if you don’t have a sturdy case, and is easily removable if you do. The rechargeable cord is a great feature. One minus point -the lock it came with seemed kinda weak so I didn’t bother using. All in all I’m really happy with my purchase. We bought two for our trip. For the money, you can’t beat this pack! .

I used to travel a lot for work and became a backpack snob. In fact, in professional forums for my job, the best way to get a long thread going was to ask what people's favorite travel backpack was. I've taken this to other states. This has flown with me on work and family trips, and it's my daypack when I need to carry more than my smaller messenger bag can handle. I've given a good dozen alternatives a test, yet still none seem to match the combo of utility, capacity, and comfort this offers. First Pro: TOP POCKET. Seriously, the perfect place for a few quick-grab items (sunglasses, ear buds, reading glasses). This is a feature I've become addicted to. It's so useful on planes as you just need to be able to reach the top of the bag to access it. Second Pro: MOAR POCKETS. The main compartment has added laptop and tablet pouches. The second largest compartment has an additional open pocket and a large zipped pocket. The third compartment has a variety of pockets (good for a notebook, pens, business cards, etc.). The fourth compartment has a divider inside. Then there are two zippered pockets on the sides with mesh pockets on the outside. Last a "hidden" pocket on the back. Third Pro: COMFY. The padded back and straps are comfortable enough for extended travel. Fourth Pro: STURDY. No rips or tears or loose stitching after 18 months. Plus a sturdy handle. If I'm really pushing the volume on the side pockets, I can clip my metal water bottle to the handle with a carabiner. Cons: Wish the luggage strap on the back was a little higher for better balance on my roller bag. A little too easy to overfill so it needs to be shoved under a plane seat instead of slid. I've tried a variety of bags at a variety of price points. This hits the sweet spot as it's one of my favorite bags and beats out more expensive ones.

I am very pleased with my purchase of this Kroser backpack. This was the product that most resembled the SwissGear 1900 backpack (with regard to size and features) that I was originally looking at. I have seen a couple of reviews commenting on the sunglass pocket at the top of the backpack not having a "hardshell". Umm, so, what? It is sturdy and reinforced enough to withstand any realistic scenario. I guess, maybe, if you dropped your backpack and some random passerby said, "wow, here's my chance to intentionally jump directly on top of the sunglass pocket!", probably some damage can occur. But in real life, it keeps my stuff secure and protected. Sometimes, there are people looking too hard to complain about something. Oh well. I have been using my backpack for just under a month, now. Designed with plenty of inner compartments for just about anything you'll need to store inside. All of the zippers are quality and glide easily when using. Each of the seems are sewn evenly and have no loose threads. Sometimes, I cram so much stuff in the backpack that it looks like a balloon about to pop, yet there is no sign of any wear on the zippers or seams. The straps all remain looking new at this point. It appears to be just as durable as any other product claims to be. Also, the laptop area is spacious and holds mine secure. It does not have the pocket design that the comparable SwissGear model has. So, here's the thing that made me go with this Kroser Backpack. Value. I asked myself this question: "Is it really necessary for me to spend another $35.00 for the comparable SwissGear because of the extra foam in the laptop compartment, and a gimmicky carabiner dangling from the outside?" I suppose if that's important to you and you want to spend nearly twice as much for the "prestige" brand, you should do it. Really though, it seems the smart-money option is with Kroser. I am surprised that I found such a well designed and manufactured item at such a reasonable price!

When I got a large 17" class notebook at work, I was unhappy with the little Dell laptop bag that was supplied with it. Sure, the laptop fit, but the bag was lame, and I was used to the fancy SwissGear bag that I had for my smaller 15" laptop. Anyways, I bought this Kroser bag and have been very happy with it for the last two years that I've been using it. It has held up well to my daily usage! One of the features that I really like are the number of pockets on the bag, and the side pockets are nicely zippered and can still be used for drinks. Plenty of room to keep things, to the point where you can make it painfully heavy to carry! I really like the sturdy metal cable carrying handle up top. And that zipper pocket up top is great to carry a Bluetooth mouse and other smaller items that you need to access frequently, but I had to remove the stiff liner that they had in there as it didn't work well for me. I like the idea of the USB charging cable on the side, and I put a small power bank inside, but I don't think that I've ever charged my phone on it, as I don't put my phone in my laptop bag. Maybe on a business trip that would be useful. Like I said, I've been using this bag for over two years now and it is holding up well, so I'd definitely recommend it.

TLDR: The Targus is a very good laptop backpack, but perhaps not twice the price better. I’ve used a Targus backpack for over 6 years, mainly to carry my laptop to work and back, on average over this time period around 3 days a week, walking around town, on the metro, uber rides, etc. I’ve also taken it with me to after-work happy hours, bars, as an overnight bag, etc. During this time it has been an exceptional backpack, however one of the suspension straps finally broke on it, so I decided to try this Kroser as an alternative. The following is my assessment of the differences between the two. Weight: The Targus is lighter than the Kroser, but the Kroser is slightly better padded overall. Handle: The Targus has a rubber wrapped wire handle, while the Kroser has a padded cloth wrapped wire handle. The Kroser’s handle is more comfortable. The Kroser also has a cloth hook which the Targus does not have. Color: I bought the silver / black Kroser. While you can’t really tell from the Amazon pictures, the Kroser “silver” color is a *lot* darker than the Targus silver. In fact, I’d even call it almost dark grey, not silver. (See the "Wenger Synergy Backpack, Gray" listing for what it actually looks like in real life) Reflective: The Targus has reflective piping on the back. The Kroser does not. If you are afraid of people not seeing you at night, or might be peddling on a bike at night with this on, you might want to consider the Targus. The Targus also has bright yellow loops throughout while the Kroser has darker red loops, and fewer of them. The Targus also has silver zippers, rather than black, and silver grommets on the back. Overall the Targus is a lot more visible than the “silver” Kroser. Side Pockets: One of the reasons I loved the Targus were the two side pockets, where you could fit a water bottle or a mini umbrella and zip the pocket all the way closed. You cannot do that with the Kroser, its pockets are about 2 inches shorter than the Targus’. Even a mini umbrella will still stick out of the top. The Kroser does have the cinching / compression straps that helps keep things like this in place, but the Targus did not even need these. Also, I can definitely see these compression straps being a future point of failure, as other reviewers have mentioned. Back Padding: The Targus is good, but the Kroser is a little better, and this is probably part of why it weighs more. Aeration between the two seems similar. Internal Padding: The Targus is good. I’ve never had any laptop or electronic item break inside my backpack, and I’ve taken it everywhere. But the Kroser is admittedly _slightly_ better. Still, they're both good. Bottom Padding: While the Targus has a rubber-like base, which is better for putting down the backpad on a wet surface, like a bench, the Kroser has slightly more padding, better for protecting items in the backpack. Your choice as to which is more important. Back Straps: Both seem similar and equally padded. The Kroser does have the chest strap, which the Targus does not have. But the Targus has suspension straps, which the Kroser does not have, and which _might_ make wearing the Targus a little bit more comfortable over time. Top Pocket: For the Kroser this is truly only the size of a glasses case, shallow. It's padded, but it's small. The Targus’ on the other hand is almost too deep, you can lose items in there, have to go fishing for things. Inner Pockets: Honestly the two are almost identical in terms of inner pockets, pockets-within-pockets, clips, hidey holes, etc. I really don’t see much difference in terms of places to put things on the inside. One moderate difference I will point out is that for the main (non-laptop) compartment in the middle, the Targus has this too large “kangaroo” pouch inside of it which often got in the way of me attempting to put something into the main compartment. The Kroser has a tighter version of this pouch which does not get in the way, and does not have this problem. Zippers: The zippers on the Targus are good, but those on the Kroser are a little better, smoother. Sum: Honestly they’re both very good laptop backpacks, and about the same size. Not taking into account cost, I don’t really see a clear winner between them, depending upon what you need. Taking cost into account, I think the Kroser is a mostly comparable backpack for about half the price. As long as you don’t need to be seen at night.

What an absolute bargain! Attractive and functional. I have reviewed dozens of backpacks of moderate to large size and none come close to what this Kroser offers for the price. Stitching heavy duty. Outstanding construction starting with a sturdy padded thick nylon handle on the top PLUS a 1/4" plastic covered wire cable attached end-to-end with ferrous metal end pieces with a rivet into the thick nylon fabric. I counted 10 pockets inside and two on the outside for tall water bottles that likely won't dislodge easily. 2 compression straps to restrain the backpack snug under the Airline seat. The shoulder straps are wonderfully padded, well-padded back part for added protection. Chest strap too. I haven't filled it yet, but I did put in several paperback books, my 9-10" iPad, some wood flutes in their fleece case and my iPhone into an inside pocket connected to my solar power pack via the built-in USB power connector. There's still plenty of room to put in toiletries, shirts, shorts swimsuit, underwear, and maybe even some sandals. It also came with a small three digit combo lock that's not much help if the whole pack is stolen. It's the thought that counts. I do believe that this gem will last a long time and I highly recommend it. The price point was amazing compared to some of the higher brand names advertised. It is made in China, but it's got to be in the top 1-2% of Backpacks that come from Asian sources. Disclaimer: I received no compensation for this honest review. To preface this review, I have at least a dozen other bags, been hunting for that perfect one. I'm now looking at bags that are in the $200 to $300 range. For right now though, this Kroser is my current favorite. It's got lots of pockets for organization, although it's sorta generic. I like the zippers, especially the one for the laptop compartment, chonky and smooth! Also, it self stands if you pack it out right! (A self standing bag is one of those things you don't think about, but once you have it, you don't want to go back). It holds both my laptops, my pouches, notebook journal, and still has space for my sweater and other stuff. If the compartmentalization was less generic, and the materials higher quality, and the interior liner a nicer color, it'd be the perfect bag! (Pro tip, if you are picky and want things like higher quality materials, more thought out organization, etc... that's when you're in the high end bag game and looking at stuff like Pioneer Panda or Tom Bihn Synik). But for the price this bag is a steal and I'm so glad I have it!!

Recently, there was a natural disaster where I live that came on suddenly. I wasn't prepared at all. I needed to leave my house with essentials, including my laptop, phone, clothes, a cpap machine, toiletries, and a few food items. However, I didn't have a proper bag for any of this stuff. I had to use plastic grocery bags, which were less than ideal. Having this sudden emergency made me realize I needed a good bag to throw everything in. I needed a bag that could hold a variety of items and made from durable, sturdy materials. I didn't want a thin bag or one that could crumple up. I got this Kroser backpack for that purpose and I think it was a fantastic choice. This bag has multiple compartments of various sizes. Starting with the outermost zippered compartment, it's large enough to hold notebooks or pads of paper, and has an additional pocket inside. The next zippered compartment is a little bit larger, and has several organizational features to hold pens, cards (including RFID protection) and an internal mesh zippered pocket. After that comes the biggest zippered compartment. This one is a great place to put clothes or food. It's deep and has a large internal pocket as well as a mesh internal pocket on the side. On the top by the handle there is a zippered hardshell compartment designed to store and protect sunglasses. The zippered laptop compartment is large and has a pocket for a laptop, and an additional pocket for a tablet, smaller laptop, or keyboard. Devices in these pockets are secured with a velcro strap. There is also an internal zippered pocket in this area. Both sides of the bag have zippered compartments and mesh pockets to hold water bottles. These hold my 24oz Takeya bottle securely. There is a USB port on one side with an internal USB cable. You can connect the cable to a power bank inside the bag while plugging your device into the external USB port. The straps are padded and comfortable. The back of the bag has padded sections, a luggage strap, and another zippered compartment at the bottom. There was a combination zipper lock included. Overall, this is an amazing bag for $40 and I highly recommend it.

I was thrilled with this bag from the moment I received it. It was delivered to regional Qld Australia within less than a week of ordering & it is really good quality and design. It feels very sturdy, the fabric is thick & excellent strength (loads more luxurious than I expected for the price), the main handle is reinforced with a cable enclosed in clear plastic and the padding is very comfortable indeed (although I haven’t tried hiking or anything with it yet). It looks as good in person as it does in pics. It is super roomy & has more pockets and compartments than I actually know what to do with - perfect for the person who likes to (or dreams to) be organised. And while I haven’t tried fully loading it up yet, a really big full pencil case, tablet, 1L water bottle, big purse & a bunch of assorted odds & ends I take to work don’t even begin to fill it up, yet it feels a really comfortable size on my shoulder. And even without the secret pocket, with so many pockets & tuck spot it would be a real challenge for anyone to slip their hand in & even find, much less quickly grab your wallet or phone. It even came with a USB cable installed. I haven’t actually used the reinforced pocket yet & it needs a bit of time to relax after being unpacked as it was a bit squished for packaging, but it definitely feels like it will keep sunglasses or a small camera protected. The side stretchy pockets comfortably hold my 1L water bottle & that also helps hide the little zip pockets behind them, which are a great spot for always being able to find your keys. Cannot recommend this bag highly enough! Very impressed & appreciate the excellent quality at that price. And in case you’re wondering… Nope. Sac bien conçu et bien réalisé. Nombreuses poches pratiques et aux bons endroits, tissu, coutures et fermetures éclair de bonne qualité; j'apprécie notamment la sangle entre les bretelles, les sangles pour compacter l'épaisseur du sac (qui compliquent également l'ouverture des fermetures éclair des 2 poches principales pour un pickpocket éventuel), la poche "portefeuille" côté dos, la sangle pour tenir le sac sur le manche télescopique d'une valise, la poignée renforcée + boucle porte-sac, et la poche pour batterie sous le port USB. C'est un sac à la fois spacieux et relativement compact de bonne qualité pour un usage quotidien, qui permet de ranger son PC portable séparément de ses autres affaires, à un prix... assez compact lui-même. Parfait pour une personne qui effectue des déplacements nombreux, & qui a besoin de voyager léger (ou de prendre les transports en commun bondés). Il ne s'agit pas d'un commentaire commercial ou intéressé, mais bien celui d'un acheteur anonyme :-)
