Hayward C751 SwimClear Plus Cartridge Pool Filter, 75 Square Foot

I purchased this filter to replace an older sand filter that was not doing the job well. I live next to some agricultural area (soy field) and the pollen from soy bean plants is brutal on pools. My pool had become unusable for 5-6 of the best weeks of summer because in my experience sand filters just don't do pollen very well. Having not seen the bottom of my pool for at least a week, I was able to install this filter and re-route the plumbing which was all cut & paste PVC in less than half a day. (I'm not a plumber) Additional plumbing hardware to modify my existing pump and return system was less than $50. The next day, I saw the bottom of my pool. Two days after that and everyday since my pool is crisp and crystal clear like an alpine lake. Definitely would recommend this to friends or family.

I bought the filter at a great price. It came fast. I installed it very easily Very simple pvc installationt that took about 30 minutes. The cartridge filter works very well and I am pleased beyond belief.I clean it often(twice a month) .The cleaning takes maybe 10 minutes. Not a lot of time to have a very clean pool.My old sand filter was not doing the job. My pool is crystal clear and very pretty now.

Easy to install, appears to be well made and so far is working great. The only problem is the threads for the inlet and outlet were cut too deep and extra thread sealant had to be used while bottoming out the fittings.

Pinch-A-Penny wanted $600 to install a new filter just like this one. I decided to buy $20 worth of PVC and install it my self. Real easy to do in an existing pool system. Love the top loading filter access and the no tools required. Took me about one hour to install it and save $300. Really cleans the water during pool operation. Very solid construction.

So after probably 15 years continued service the hot summer this year finally killed my pool pump . The whole system was very old so I decided to bite the bullet and replace the filter at the same time as the pump. The existing pump was Hayward so i replaced with the same unit due to its longevity and I chose the same brand for the filter . The only decision i tool a long time to make was sand filter ( as we had) or cartridge filter . A colleague had installed a cartridge filter systems so I checked his out , my main concern was the price of the filters . As I found out ( and you will see from another review) the costs was not that bad and typically the filters will last for years as long as you take them out and clean them at the end of the season . Now the original unit we got was damaged so they shipped a replacement the following week and picked up the faulty unit about a month later . The pressure we get from the filter for cleaning and just water flow around the pool is significantly better than the old sand filter , very pleased indeed

It was fairly easy to install, it runs for weeks without having to clean it, and my pool is dirtier than most. It arrived in a timely matter, easy to clean. super happy with the purchase.That was true until I realized the design flaw that after a few cleanings I noticed the rubber seal gets bigger every time you take it off and on, as it turns out due to the tight fit it stretched it out a lil more every time, and the filter is currently getting clogged way to easy. still better than what I had but no where near as good as I thought it would be.

Outstanding! Why didn't I buy one of these years ago? Oh yeah, they were too pricey. Not anymore! Performs like a champ. Easy to clean and great return pressure. A real no-brainer. If you're hemming and hawing between types of filters, look no more!

disconnected old filter by cutting pipes and got new one glued into place, fired it up--Yippee! No leaks - oh no! pressure-reading gage is not working!!!!! what now?! Paperwork says to send non-working parts back in original shipping carton- and how am I to do this when filter is glued into place?
