I fell and broke a finger in my hand. After being in a cast for several weeks, my physical therapist recommended I get this putty to strengthen my hand. It has helped with my recovery.

Great choice

The red is good, works well and all. HOWEVER - I think it must be mis-labeled as 'soft', because in comparison - the green 'medium' is softer and more pliable. I only purchased the green and red and it's an easy comparison. ...nothing wrong with the red, it's just that the green is definitely softer and had I known, I probably would have tried the yellow instead.

Haven’t tried yet but sure it will be ok. Started using the XX soft first for weeks and definitely saw an improvement in flexibility and strength. Glad I read many reviews about the product that helped me make the right decision for my needs. There is no stickiness, putty does return to original flat shape of plastic container each time. It's more than what I wanted to spend but it's worth it.

have weak hand weak . I thought red would soft enough not so think need tan . xx soft . red it hard its work out . keeping one open package . not sticky won't stick to hands . no smell . nice container put in not in use . 5 star all way

Maybe relative to the other putties in this line is the red one soft, but by no standard that I would ever use would I consider it so. Perhaps they should give it a more objective metric to quantify it's resistance - a pounds of pressure needed to flatten it out, or something like that? And it's not like I'm an older person with a weak grip - I'm an advanced level rock-climber in my 30s using this putty for prehab and rehab purposes. Pretty dissatisfied with the purchase on this count, though the quality of the putty seems good enough.

The medium soft has a perfect strength for me to squish, and after frequently used for a couple of months my hands got much stronger without any injuries. I have regular sized hands for women and I feel that the 4 oz is just right amount to work on in my hands. Also, I noticed that after few months use the putty got harder, but it will be turned soft again after few minutes squish. Overall, it is a great product and I highly recommend it.
