First thing I did was charge the camera. I hadn’t pressed the physical power button and didn’t see any indication it was charging. After powering on I still wasn’t sure if the camera was charging or the battery level. To setup you will need the “CloudEdge” app and the camera connects directly to Wifi, 2.4Ghz only. Some extra steps during setup I appreciated was that to complete the setup process you will need to scan a QR displayed on your mobile device with the camera itself, also the reset button must be pressed. The lower back portion of the camera contains a micro USB port for charging, micro SD card slot for memory storage, and a reset button, this all can be covered with the included silicon plug for outdoor usage.Video quality is good and has IR night vision. Camera has a speaker with two-way audio. In app you can record on demand or take a screenshot while viewing the camera feed. The only way I’ve seen to know if the camera is charging and the battery level is within the app(the camera came fully charged). The app will also give you the Wifi strength of your camera to help with placement. The view of the camera can also be rotated 180 degrees. I do not have a spare SD card but the app will show you the capacity left on your SD card up to 128gb. The app has a choice of receiving notifications, but doesn’t tell you what kind of notifications you will get, such as any motion or based on sound. There is also an option for body detection, which can be set to high, medium, or low. Notifications and body detection are two different options, in my test if I turn off notifications I don’t get alerts at all. With both options on I’ve not yet received an alert that said a person/ body was detected with myself walking in front of the camera, only get an alert saying motion detected. Notifications came in quickly, can’t give an exact time but within a few seconds of the motion event. The motion detection range is good, but again the alert only says motion detected. I have this pointed toward the street and only received two false-positive notifications, compared to my Blink XT this was much better. I put this outside in an uncovered exposed area and it will be raining for the next several days here, the camera lens had raindrops and the view was not good, so the camera should be in a covered area or needs a cover or some sort, but this could be a problem with any camera similar. If the camera has high usage you will get an alert letting you know. There is also an option to add Friends/Accounts for other people you want to access the camera feed, I’m not sure what level of access the other account members have. Records audio very well to. Night vision is pretty good although faces can be washed out if too close. Blue indicator light comes on when motion is detected and will flash blue when being viewed live, but not very noticeable. The IR lights, 3 of them are noticeable at night.Read through the terms of service and video is encrypted and the servers are located in Beijing and Singapore.

I bought this one because the reviews were good. People said you don’t need WiFi to use it once it’s set up, but it will not work where I wanted to use it because my WiFi doesn’t reach there. It does require WiFi to work. The motion detect has a lag and by the time it takes the 2 blurry, grainy pictures, the person or animal that set it off is already almost out of frame, especially because sometimes the first photo is just all white wash. Sometimes birds and bugs set it off. So it detects them as they zoom by and then takes a photo afterwards. Expect to get notifications on your app constantly about movement. It notified me 3 times this morning just from my husband leaving for work. It shouldn’t go off that much. Should be just one notification for a certain time period.And every time you want to view the live feed it buffers forever first. By the time you load the live view to see what set off the motion detect, it’s gone. The pictures are grainy and blurry during the day. And a thousand times worse at night. The battery lasted about 3 months the first use. After the battery drained I charged it to 100% and put it back up, and by the second day it was drained to 88% already!

I ordered the Mascarry Wireless WiFi Home Security Camera to watch for any unwanted visitors on my property. I hoped to set the camera up on the front of my house - up on the eves. The camera has been so unreliable during the setup and testing I don't want it up so high I have to get a ladder out every time it malfunctions. It fails to send alerts consistently. I can wave my hand in front of it within 2 feet and it doesn't detect anything - and no alert is sent. The few times it has provided an alert it was while I had it in my hand to fix an issue, or it began the recording after the event - so by the time the recording began - the "intruder" was gone. Very disappointing... the so called troubleshooting within the instructions were very brief and do not cover the issues I have experienced. The camera picture is clear, and I suppose as a novelty item it functions, but it is defiantly implied to be a "Security" camera - so far it provides no form of security. I have emailed the company, but no one has replied. Hopefully I hear back - otherwise I will return. If they contact me - I will update....

This IP camera is a great value has all the features I want... pir motion detection 30ft and night vision around 30ft too. 720p hd recording with smooth fps. Recommend to Watch YouTube videos to see quality. You don't need wifi to use the camera only to setup because you can insert micro SD card which saves motion recordings to it then able to access via app or remove SD card to transfer videos to PC. Also great for front door because 2 way audio and notification features. At first I tried to setup with my Samsung phone with latest Android software update but cloudedge app wasn't updated to work with that Latest Android version yet so I used another device with older version of Android which now works great. App is available for iOS and Android. Battery life is about 20+ days before recharge or you can just keep it powered with USB adapter. Micro SD card and USB adapter not included. Hope this is helpful.
