Based on reading the reviews of other journals by this company, I had two concerns. The first was that there would be weird English phrases at the bottom of the pages (others mentioned "thanks for your purchase" printed on the inside pages of a similar product). This was not the case. The only writing was light Chinese characters on some pages, which were basically features of the artwork. (And in small white letters on the cover "idea by jian" or something like that, fairly unobtrusive.) I was also concerned that the pictures on the pages would be too dark to write over. There are probably a few pages like this, but not many. The artwork is nice and it seems well-bound. I think it will do nicely.

Super adorable journal/notebook with beautiful and serene pages filled with landscapes & whales. I also purchased the water color edition and think this may be my favorite of the two, but they are both fantastic looking and well made! Would make for an excellent journal! :D
