Fantastic monitor!
Love this monitor, I have 2. I prefer 2k, over 4k since 4k causes too much strain for daily work in my opinion, 2k is perfect and you can fit more than enough on 2 screens compared to HD. As for the speaker, well... I didn't buy these for the speakers, sure its a nice touch, kinda, but like others said they are basically useless. I don't see a need to drop a star for it tho. I use these for work, not gaming so I can't speak to their performance there. I would not expect these to be high performance in that category tho given the specs, and they are not really marketed for it anyways. My ONLY complaint is the controls are on the back. I have my monitors hooked up to a smart plug so I can shut them down with my voice - they are set up to remember the last setting so they will turn on even after a power failure. If you have a dual screen set up like me it makes it almost impossible to access the controls on the left screen, they should of just put a small power button on the front, but I knew this going into the purchase. Just do your research.I had one DoA but the company took care of it very fast, with no issues - keep the box! Monitors today are MASS produced, and stocked at hundreds of distribution facilities where they sit for a very long time. Anything is possible so just keep that in mind before you go ripping into the box with a chainsaw...I highly recommend this monitor, more companies need to make 2k monitors, more docking stations, and video cards support dual 2k's over 4k's. Sure you can set a 4k at 2k, but why pay the extra money if you are not going to use it? If you are upgrading from HD and want to fit more on your screen for work purpose, and have a crisper image then get this!

Best value for 1440p, QHD, 2K monitor
After doing exhaustive research for nearly two weeks for a 1440p/2K/QHD monitor on a budget all roads led to the V277U. Newegg, Reddit and Amazon all seem to be in agreement that this monitor is the best value you can get right now for a 1440p, IPS monitor. I'm impressed with it, as it greatly enhances my ability to work. Watching 1440p on YouTube is just jaw dropping, and comparing the colors of photos next to my laptop screen shows me just how great the picture is. I have had a few interactions with Acer tech support and they have been very helpful. The only issue seems to be about a centimeter of black between the bezel and the usable screen that isn't used. Acer suggested updating drivers of both my graphics card and the monitor, which I did and the issue persists. They suggested then that it may be because I am running Windows 7 and they recommend windows 10. I haven't tested with Windows 10 or any other device so I'm not sure if this is the monitor or my hardware, but I'm guessing its my hardware. There doesn't seem to be any option in the menu to correct screen position. Speaking of the menu there are tons of options to customize the screen in addition to very useful presets. Blue light control was the most important for me and you can cut it out to ease reading. It does include a displayport cable which I am using and it was just plug and play in terms of it working out of the box. It is VESA compatible, and I'll probably get a different stand as I need it to sit lower than the current stand, but this of course is a personal preference. All in all this monitor is worth buying if you are not willing/able to go up the next tier in price.

Great looking monitor, iffy stand.
Ordered this monitor as sort of a gift to myself. Right now my set up is a Macbook Pro connected via HDMI to this monitor. The main attraction here is great. Picture looks awesome. I may be biased because I went from a 27" 720p TV to this 27" 1440p monitor, and I was not expecting just how much better it would be. The controls are easy to reach and understand, although I'm a bit nervous if I ever decide to get a second monitor, as the controls sit on the right side of the screen. It could be blocked by the second monitor, but I can't speak for that now!The one part where I wish Amazon let me rate in half stars is the monitor stand. I saw some other reviews mentioning that the stand was "flimsy" which I don't know if I would agree with. I would probably say this stand may be just a bit too wobbly for my liking. The base itself is good quality, and not really flimsy. However, as I'm typing this review, the whole monitor is shaking just noticeably enough to drive me nuts. I'm not worried about the monitor falling or anything, I'm more worried that I'll develop bad typing habits so I don't shake the monitor as much.Overall, I'd recommend. I haven't tried gaming, but for regular everyday use, this monitor holds up well. Looks awesome. I'll definently be buying a second monitor in the future, but I'll also for sure be ditching the stands ASAP.
