A Good Solid SDS Plus Floor Scraper!
This SDS Plus floor scraper is great and helped me remove linoleum and the adhesive backing pretty quickly. I had a room and closet to remove the linoleum from in order to prep for a tile installation. I had worked on some adjacent rooms before I got this scraper and I used some other floor scrapers and razor blade scrapers and it took a long time and lots of elbow grease to get it off the floor. I knew I was going to be doing this floor with the same linoleum on it and so I thought I'd look on Amazon to see if I could fine a scraper for my SDS Plus jack hammer. I found some but they wanted over a hundred dollars for a bit which is ridiculous. I found this one for $50.00 and even though there were no reviews I thought it looked like it could do the job and so I thought I would take a chance on this bit. $50.00 is not so cheap either but the thought of working on this floor the way the last one went was not appealing. So I ordered it. I received it quickly with Amazon Prime. I just used it this week and I could not believe how fast the linoleum and adhesive backing came up. It was great! It saved me a lot of work and sweat. It was worth the $50.00 just for this job alone. It is in great shape and I should be able to use it on other jobs. It is sturdy and solid. I think it would work on loosely adhered thin set. I am not sure how it would do on white polymer modified thick thin set. I have not tried it yet on thin set. But if you have a linoleum floor this would work well. The only downside is that the screws / bolts get loose as you use it. But I just tightened them with a couple of pliers every so often and I was able to finish. I might try some lock tight on them to see if that will help to keep them tight. This is a good solid SDS Plus scraper bit. I was glad to get it and I was not disappointed! :-)

Nuts still suck
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Works amazingly well for removing thinset! The nuts as mentioned over and over in the reviews are still failing. I did what others recommended and bought one inch long bolts and used a lock washer and two nylon lock nuts. The original bolts came loose in two minutes of use. I tried just locknuts with the original bolts and washers and it still came loose. After I put a lock washer and double lock nuts it stayed put for 300 sq feet of thinset removal. This on a Bauer rotary hammer from harbor freight worked better than any other chisel or scraper I tried. It did break after 250ish sq ft of punishment but I just replaced the blade and all was well. If they would address the nut issue it would be 5 stars all day!*EDIT*I rented a demo hammer and cart to take up our glued down hardwood floor which didn’t work at all btw. I had a much bigger version of this scraping bit and it was garbage compared to this thing. It was attached to a literal jackhammer and it just slid over the thin set no matter what angle or pressure I put on it. I raised a star because this thing really is awesome at what it does if you look past the terrible nuts it comes with.

This thing is pure gold baby!
Demo’ed 2000 square feet of 40 year old ceramic. Tried the Diamanrush thin set removal disc with a floor machine- wore the teeth out in 40 square feet.Used this with a hammer drill. A pain in the ass? Youbetcha! But that damn thin set wasn’t gonna remove itself.Buy a few Grade 8 5/16 1 inch bolts, lock washers and nuts. Use an extra nut as a jam nut. Replace the bolts it came with before you start. Also buy a couple extra blades- I blade lasted about 1200 square feet.

Blade keeps coming loose
Was removing thinset from a concrete floor. The tool was working well when I noticed the bolts, holding the blade, were rotating and loosening. Tightened several times but began loosening more quickly until it became unusable. The nuts were nylon locknuts but would not hold.Follow up, manufacturer's response was quick and professional:Hey Jim,Very sorry about that. This is a new product so haven’t received feedback yet so not sure if this will reoccur or if you had faulty nylock nuts.We can do a couple things: you can either return to amazon for a full refund, or I could send you replacement bolts along with a 3 inch wide solid chisel. If the replacement bolts fail you can return the 4 inch scraper for a full refund and keep the 3 in chisel for your trouble. Please let me know how you’d like to proceed. If you want to give it one more shot then please reply with your addressThanksRody

Effectiive and Efficient!
Overall, this has worked wonderfully to remove the thinset from the terrazzo floor that was installed when the home was build in the 1960s. At some point prior to our purchasing the home, various flooring materials were put over the terrazzo, tile be the most recent product. We have removed the tile and will be having the terrazzo restored and polished. This has made it possible to complete the task in a effective and timely manner. I gave only 4 stars because the nylock nuts that hold the blade to the shank come loose after some use. They can be tightened, but it is inconvenient to have to tightened every few minutes. The issue is easy enough to resolve with some different hardware from your local hardware store.

This would have been a great device if it had undergone any testing at all.
As others have stated, the nylon lock nuts holding the blade to the post are totally insufficient for the job. I used this device for an hour real time and had to tighten the nuts more than 10 times. By the end of an hour, the nuts were coming loose in less than 15 seconds of use. It's a real shame too, because when the nuts were tight, this tool did its job superbly.I'll go out and buy longer bolts with lock washers but I shouldn't have to do that. What minimal amount of product testing did the manufacturer do to not realize that nylon nuts are insufficient to hold a plate that's designed to be jack-hammered with a hammer drill? Is this product actually safe to use? The manufacturer cannot possibly have done enough testing to know that to be the case. Clearly it's defective if it cannot be used as-delivered for its intended purpose for an hour without falling apart.
