Great reference for the great loop traveler
This was a great book for traveling the great loop. We referenced it many times in different ports. We really like the map features and the explanations about milage and gas between ports etc. Also had handy ideas and input for your voaygae. A must have for your great loop journey.

Looks good to me
We have done the first part of the Great Loop - from Lake Ontario through the Trent-Severn Waterway, Georgian Bay, North Channel, and Lake Michigan. In a few weeks we continue on from Chicago.I can’t verify everything from personal experience, but what I can verify is very useful and I plan to use the guide as a Bible for the remainder of the trip, doing each day’s travel just as recommended. There are a few small errors I’ve found, but the wealth of information and the details of day by day recommended travel more than offsets them. The book would benefit from a good editing. Layout is sometimes confusing and certain parts are obscure, but overall this book should give any newbie the confidence to tackle the Loop and the information they need to be successful and safe.

all of it
likes---ALL OF IT. I got a 23" sailboat in oct. 2013.Heard about the great loop in 14" have been studying and working on boat every since. I have read everything I can find on great loop. This is the most complete book on ALL parts of trip , I have seen yet. Every time I have done something and then changed it for better, I have found that here saying don't do this. Now I look at book first,to see if that is what I REALLY want to do..wondering why I haven't done trip yet? health and age . not all mine. family still kicks in sometimes. But I do feel like this spring I can get under way again. Capt John says do it now. You are not getting younger and health changes fast. I say buy book today .leave the day you get book . hope to see you on trip. maybe we can cross wakes.

STOP having anxiety about ANYTHING!!!
Some of the informal education that was pasted down to me over the years taught me things like:1. Without a Vision the People Perish! If you are retired like we are and have been used to making important decisions that make a difference in your life and others for the past 40-50 years and NOW IMPORTANT DECISION-MAKING is much less frequent and not nearly as important you stand to lose many of the qualities of life that you have enjoyed in the past. Therefore, "You need a Vision!!"; something to do, somewhere to go, something to say to someone somewhere that you have never said before. BUY and devour this book. If it doesn't give you a Vision for what you could do for the next few years of your life, I would say that you are possibly beyond the point of no return. But maybe it not to late after all since this book is an Olympic Gold Medal caliber book of help for vision-casting for retired people.2. Use it on lose it! Following this book around the Great Loop, you will have to make new decisions each day BUT you will enjoy the presence of you own PLC (Personal Looper Coach). Personal coaches have been used for all facets of human life for as long as Time has existed. Capt. John, via this book is the best possible PLC that I could imagine for you, me and anyone else. See you all on the Greatest North American Loop Adventure.

Great Resource
My father asked me to purchase this book along with the two other recommended bundle items and has been talking about the great loop nonstop since then. His advice to anyone looking to make the great loop is to buy all three of the recommended boats before hand. These books will provide you with a great starting point for figuring out all the equipment and type of boat you need in order to set sail on a journey of a lifetime.

A must have for the planning of the great loop
Informative and a good planning tool for the looper. It was marketed as a "2023 edition", but it's clearly from 2022.The print and individual page layout need improvement from the publisher.Same goes for the pictures. With modern printing technology the pictures should be much better. The book is quite expensive so value for money i'll give it a 3/5

Only good if you want to follow one man's trip
I was interested in delivering a boat from Toronto to Miami via the intra-coastal waterway and I thought this guide would be helpful, but unfortunately it isn't. This is one man's experience of navigating the loop in an anti- clockwise direction. What if you want to go the other way round? It isn't really much use for selecting individual sectors in either direction.
