I am an engineer by training and I therefore appreciate excellent design, and quality manufacturing. These scissors represent the best of both those worlds. The design is the best I've ever seen in my life (I'm 69 years old), and the manufacturing quality represents the pinnacle of what is possible.Even before you cut with these, just opening and closing the handles is ... what's the right word ... thrilling. Yes, the action is so smooth from end-to-end, and there is absolutely no grind or grittiness that I found myself just wanting to sit there opening and closing the scissors just to experience the marvel of something so smooth and so perfect.A comparison is my 1958 Leica M3 rangefinder camera. When you wind it and then press the button the precision of the engineering and manufacturing can be felt and heard. Same thing here. That camera is still worth almost $5,000 on eBay. These are a mere $100 (depending on which length you get).As for cutting, it goes without saying that I've never experienced such smooth, precise cuts, but one of the best parts is that the precision extends right out to the tip of the scissors. With cheaper brands, they may start the cut without a problem, but when you get to the tip of the scissors the blades will separate slightly and it will fail to cut cleanly, especially with thin paper. That doesn't happen with these scissors.So, if quality turns you on, and you want the best scissors in this world, buy these.

I am a scissors snob of sorts - I have scissors made in Germany, Japan, Taiwan, etc. I try to buy the best quality scissors I can find as you can never have too many. I have found these Kai scissors to be the absolute sharpest, cleanest cutting scissors I could find, at any price! I have about a dozen of these around the house, in my shop and near the sewing machine. You cannot go wrong - just buy one and try!

7230 have little bit less weight and handle than 7250 model, so if you don't have big palms - I recommend it. And it cut so smoothly! Just will use only for fabric to keep it sharp, I have decent scissors from Dollar Tree exactly for carton/paper.

I hesitated a bunch before buying because they are pricy. These scissors work really nice and worth the money. Tools, you get what you pay for!

My search for a decent pair of scissors is over. I love their weight and they fit perfectly in my hand. They are very sharp and they open and close with ease. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Until you have tried a pair of shears this sharp and accurate, you just don't know how good they can be. I was hacking away at fabric (and struggling with cutting 4 layers at once) and never really knowing you can get better until I took some advice from a beginner's sewing book and purchased these. Incredible. Mind-blowingly sharp and really, you have not lived until you get a pair of fabric shears as good as these. Because of the cost, I still tend to use my old shears on things like batting and interfacing, but when I do switch to use the Kai's, it always shocks me and brings a smile to my face. Treat yourself, then thank me, and Amazon. ;-) (My review sounds kitchy but it's an honest unsolicited review that I wanted to share to help other beginner sewists / seamstress / tailors like myself.)

The quality of these scissors is beyond anything I ever experienced before, , and I am a professional tailor, accustomed to using professional scissors. It cuts through fabric like butter, and they are so light! I tried all the way to 5 layers of thick fabric and it did not bother these mighty scissors. I'm so in love I went and got a second pair for gifting. The delivery was super fast also, and well boxed and wrapped in bubble wrap to protect this precious cargo. Thank you so much!

I seem to have stumbled into the universe of scissor enthusiasts, and these Kai scissors are my latest addition. I already purchased a smaller scissor and was blown away with how sharp they were, and the quality of the build. I wanted a bigger version, one that could fit two fingers into the bottom "loop" for comfort while cutting. I had no idea that I would get such a quality product for this price!These scissors are the real deal. The metal is one piece, all the way from the scissor "blade" to the handle - as opposed to having a 100% plastic handle attached to the metal scissor blades. This adds a lot of weight to the product, and you really feel the quality when you're holding these scissors. They cut like a dream, all the way to the very tip. They're made so well that the two parts glide across each other as you open and close the blades, helped with a generous dab of oil at the hinge.It appears that the two blades are held together with an anchor that can be undone, so they can be separated for maintenance and then put together again. I've been searching for a scissor that has this feature, as you can maintain the life of the product for decades, and even hand this down to your children.The fact you can get these scissors for such a low price is really mind blowing. I think that I might have gone a little overboard, and for general everyday cutting I would choose the "normal" version (as this is the "pro" version of the Kai 230mm) with the all-plastic handle. Even with that said, I would easily recommend these to anyone who is interested in picking them up - you're absolutely getting your money's worth and you won't be disappointed!

I hated cutting fabric for my partner's sewing projects. Her shears were soooo heavy and it was just so annoying to cut stuff and heavy and it made my fingers sore. I knew I needed something else or else I would never enter the sewing room again LOL. Cue the Kai shears!!!Honestly they're a pleasure to cut with. I was expecting anything to be better than her shears (which could possibly double as weights for a hand workout...) but these were amazing. They're light, they are beautiful and they were amazing to cut with. So sharp even with thick materials. We rolled up a cotton knit fabric about 8 times and even though it needed more pressure, the cuts were smooth and straight. Worth every penny.
