This is the second time we've ordered this brand of mattress protector because it is such good quality for a reasonable price. It is thick enough that it doesn't tear easily like others we've tried. The elasticized sides seem like they would fit a very deep mattress, but they also fit our very shallow mattress (~ 6") like a glove. The waterproof backing material is PUL (polyurethane laminate), the same material that is commonly used as a diaper wrap over cloth diapers. Some may disagree, but I consider this material safe. It is soft and doesn't make an annoying crinkling sound. The top material is 100% cotton. We have been using this mattress protector for a child who is learning not to wet the bed. We don't want to have to wash it every time she wets, so we turned it upside down on the bed so that the waterproof layer is on top. Then, we put towels directly on top of the mattress protector, followed by her fitted sheet. The towels absorb most of the fluid so that we're not pushing the mattress protector to its limits, and since the waterproof layer doesn't absorb any fluid, we can just wipe the protector off with a damp cloth and leave it on the bed, good as new. This system works well for us. As with any waterproof mattress protector, I would recommend not to wash it too often or put it in the dryer, because this can eventually cause the waterproof layer to become brittle and tear. By turning it upside down on the bed, we basically never need to wash it.

This is great! Hardly notice that it is there but it’s comforting to know that my mattress is protected.

I purchased the LUCID Waterproof Mattress Protector in Twin Size from Amazon as a replacement (I actually ordered the wrong size - I meant to order a Queen but accidentally selected Twin) and found the price to be reasonable for the quality when I took into consideration the last one I purchased at the mattress store (with the purchase of a new mattress) was over $200.00!!!!!!! Don't get me wrong that protector is great and all but I wish I did shop around before spending that kind of cash! Although it was the wrong size I kept the Twin anyway because I found it to be such a great deal since it comes with a 15 year limited warranty to protect it from defects and could put it to use on the twin bed we have. The terry surface is soft and quiet, not scratchy and noisy like some mattress protectors on the market. I have not encountered any spills yet so I cannot comment on its ability to repel fluids but the terry surface and polyurethane backing seem very well constructed and it fits snugly on the twin bed without riding up. Its important to read the information about laundering if you purchase this mattress protector. Some people have complained in their reviews that their protector did not withstand much time or laundering before the quality diminished but if you are constantly washing and then placing it into a dryer to dry, it is going to shrink and diminish the quality of the mattress protector because you are only supposed to LINE DRY the protector. It says to tumble dry on low or no heat ONLY if necessary and to never iron or dry clean it.

Really great quality mattress cover, I've washed it several times and it's held up well. It's been put to the waterproof test with my newborn and has protected our mattress well. It has great deep pockets that actually fit my deep mattress which usually does not fit any fitted sheets, so that's saying something. It doesn't feel crunchy like some waterproof things can and would probably work well as a fitted sheet (instead of the one that comes with the sheet set) as the terrycloth top is very nice. My only drawback is that the terrycloth does hold pet hair and lint a bit more than some sheets, so if you have very furry dogs like mine that want to hop on your bed than you may find the pet hair woven in the fibers a bit more than some other fabrics- but it washed out better than some cotton materials I own so I'm a happy buyer.

I can honestly say this mattress protector has saved my brand new mattress! This morning I woke up to find that a disgruntled cat decided to leave a wet surprise on the other side of the bed right on the sheets. Needless to say it was big and it was a mess. Soaked right through my thin sheets and onto the mattress protector and went no further! I felt the bottom of side of the protector after I stripped it off the bed and it's completely dry. The mattress remains untouched. Thank you so much Lucid, you just saved me from a disaster! I just ordered 2 more. Another plus for this item is that it fits on my 13" Cal-King mattress absolutely perfectly. It doesn't shift around, and because it has a fitted sheet style it's easy to take off, wash and replace. I would really not want to have lift my mattress up off the box springs to unzip and undress it the way some other full cover protectors work.The price is very reasonable as well. At the time of my orders it's $27 for the Cal-King size. The texture of the material is nice as well. It feels like a thin terry cloth. The waterproof material is underneath the terry cloth finish. It not not rustle or feel stiff and noisy at all. If you don't need 360 degree bed bug protection then I would definitely get this over the others available here on Amazon. I would even say get the 360 protection and then put this over it so if there's a spill you don't need to call someone to help you lift the mattress to change out the protector.

EDIT: Finally got a chance to see if it really is waterproof and it is. I also wanted to update this review when I had a chance to wash it as well, since some reviews said that it was ruined after washing it. Washing it didn't ruin it or damage it in any way. The only problem I had was it said to tumble dry it on low/air dry. I did that and it was in the dryer for almost a hour without drying it (in a brand new dryer). So I put it on high heat for 20 minutes and prayed that wouldn't ruin it. It still didn't dry all the way, so I put it on for another 20 minutes with high heat and it was perfect. I read all the reviews and I was back and forth on this for a few days before I finally decided to take the plunge and order it. Most people say it is truly waterproof, but I haven't tested out that yet. Our son comes and gets in bed with us a lot, and sometimes he leaks terribly through his diaper in the night and we just bought a brand new, king size bed and I didn't want it ruined. Still haven't been able to test that out to see if it will keep even minor moisture away from the mattress, because low and behold, the minute we put it on the bed, our son hasn't made any nighttime appearances. lol But what worried me most was the fact that a few people said in their reviews that after putting it on their bed, that it made them extremely hot and sweaty at night. I get extremely hot at night all on my own, and I sure didn't want to add something else to the bed that would cause me to be even more hot. But I took into consideration that the majority of people said it didn't do that, so I went with that. Once we put it on the bed, I was happy to find that it fit very well, and didn't change the feel of the bed at all. It doesn't make any noise when you move around, and I was very glad to find out that it didn't make me hotter at night. Another plus to it....after we put it on the bed, our fitted sheet stopped popping off the mattress as well, so it's an added bonus that it's keeping the sheets in place. So overall, I love this product! Will update if anything changes.

YOU GUYS! You have no idea how vital it is that you invest in this mattress cover. It's the superhero of mattress covers. Here's why: After living with the same old lumpy mattress for more than 10 years, I bit the billet and bought a new one. It's incredibly comfortable, I sleep like the dead, and couldn't be happier with it. I purchased this mattress protector as an afterthought because I have animals that sleep on my bed and you never know when someone's going to throw up or worse, so I figured the more layers the better. Flash forward to my second night with the new mattress, I realize my 14 year old cat has decided she doesn't like it as much as I do and has peed on it. NIGHT TWO. Seriously. I cringe as I begin to peel off the layers and realize the comforter is soaked through. Top sheet, soaked through. Bottom sheet, soaked through. Mattress cover is soaked as well. I'm horrified, and then... I peel off the mattress cover completely to inspect the damage and... nothing. No stain. No moisture. No smell. No nothing. The back side of the cover is clean and dry. It shut that nonsense down completely. I washed everything, remade the bed, and was back in business in 90 minutes. In the months that have followed, my ridiculous cat has done this to me SEVEN more times. Always the same result: bedding soaked through, mattress untouched. Superhero. If, like me, you reading these reviews trying to figure out which of the hundreds of possible mattress covers on Amazon you should buy, I promise you, its this one. It's so this one.

Me encantaron los cubre almohadas y cubre colchón! En el interior son “plastificados” que hacen el efecto impermeable y por fuera son muy muy suaves. Tienen un cierre que mantiene la almohada en su lugar. El cubrecolchon es la medida perfecta! Aun si el colchón es muy muy alto. No son calurosos ni hacen ruido. Es una excelente compra 👌🏻 Lo recomiendo ampliamente!
