Greatly Improved my Mower!
Recently whenever I would mow my grass I would wind up having to go over it and over it, due to these lines of grass bing left. I finally decided to get some new bladed thinking that was the problem. I went to Sears and was shocked how much they wanted (plus they did not even have my size in stock, they would have to order it). So, as I do with all my purchasing I came on Amazon. I found these and was not sure if they would fit (I have never changed my blades before), so I looked at the ones on the Sears website and they both had that five star hole, so I went ahead and bought these. I got the blades, and went out to change them. I could not get under the mower, so I got some cinder blocks and lifted the mower while shoving the blocks under the tires (if you do this be careful since the mower is super heavy, and would probably do a lot of damage if it fell on you, if you got a jack I would use it, but my Car jack was too high and did not have any thing secure to hold on to). I got under the mower and tried to get the old blades off, they would not budge (I guess they were put on at the factory), I tried a Drill and that did not work (the drill could not turn), I finally just kept pushing while holding the blade with a rag (when you turn the bolt to get it off it would just turn the blade and not loosen), finally the seal broke and it started coming off. I took the old blade off (just one bolt holds it on), it was about half the size of these (that is why I had lines of grass left), I got the new blade and was not sure which way to put it on, so I just matches curve with the way the old one was, i used the drill to bring the bolt up to the top, and then aligned the star pattern with the mower (you have to make sure they are aligned do not just tighten, and while holding the new blade tightened by hand. I repeated this process three times (the middle blade was the hardest due to its location). I got all the blades on and put the mower back on the ground (off the cinder blocks), and cranked it up). It started and spit some clumps of grass out (what was on the side of the deck), and then I mowed the grass. My cut time was cut in half, these blades go the whole distance of the deck and cut down the grass in one path! These blades are the best things I ever got for my mower, and when it is time for new ones (probably in about 2-3 years) I will definitely by these again - plus the price for all three of these was about the price for just one blade at Sears. Highly recommend, just make sure it is right, for my mower it was the size and 5 star hole. Also, do not give up if the old blades do not seem to want to come off, mine were super tight and it took a lot of force to get the bolt to loosen (once that first loosen goes through you can take it off with your fingers or drill). To help anyone out, here are the details on my mower. I have a Craftsman DYS 4500 with 26 HP V-Twin Koehler Pro, with a 54" Cutting Deck. These fit mine perfectly and I have had no problem since i started using them and have cut my cutting time in half!!!

Better than beating grass with dull steel bar and I like the noise it makes.
I will have to say I love these blades. I was a little apprehensive on purchasing them because I like to mow my grass high, Not me being high (not all the time anyways) but I mean the length of the grass. I have a 54" 26hp Craftsman GT5000 and it cuts perfect on the highest setting, but any setting lower than that and my yard suffers. I have been letting the bermuda grow a little longer to recover from some drought stress. So when the review said you lose 1/2" of height, I was worried. The Gator Blades finally arrived yesterday and as I was replacing the current blades, I discovered that the shop who had tuned the mower, had installed them backwards...so that explains why it was cutting soo crappy to begin with. Anything would be an improvement at this point.Pros:Fitment was correctBlades are heavy duty thickness, thicker than the stock bladesBlades are sharpThe fins look coolSounds like an airboat nowThrows grass further and with mucho gusto!Vacuum effect sucks up stray curb grass and pine cones = less edging and blowingThe 1/2" drop was not very noticeableMade in the USALocal shop wanted $60Cons:I use side discharge with the chute lifted up and held in place with a small bungee cord. I do this so it sorta just blows a spray of grass instead of leaving a discharge trail because I am too lazy to rake and although it throws grass further I don't see the pieces being any smaller. Not entirely convinced that these are the best mulchers money can buy.But hey, I was beating my grass with a dull steel bar prior to this, what do I know?

Good product from a respected company
Got these for a Husqvarna 24V54 and cannot be more satisfied. Concerning some negative/critical reviews: (1) The cutting edge is the EXACT height of my original blades. No need to make new adjustment to the deck height. (2) They do not arrive dull! The blades are coated with thick paint to protect you from getting cut while installing them. It will come off when you start using them. I used a sandpaper disc on an angle grinder to remove the paint before installation and it revealed a knife sharp edge. (3) These blades are the same length as regular blades so I can't see how these would leave a strip of uncut grass. Mine cut great. I replaced the discharge chute with a mulching cover so no more raking.

Very affordable & last longer than regular blades.
They last longer & do very well as far as longevity in sandy areas.

Great Blades
These were for my 54inch Husqvarna zero turn. Cuts great and mulches up all the leaves that are currently coming down. I did grind off the paint and make the cutting edge sharp.

They Work Wonders
I was very concerned when I received them and peeled the sticker off the blade and all the black paint just came off, exposing the metal. That’s no good. Then I thought why are they painted in the first place? It’s not like paint is going to stay on a blade. I removed my old blades and of course there’s not any paint on them because that’s impossible. I put on the new blades and cut 10 acres more beautifully than I have ever cut. I was shocked. I was thrilled like I had just gotten the best gift ever. These things work wonders. I kept asking my lawn professionals why I would get big clumps of grass like acne on a teenager on my lawn after they would cut it, and of course they would explain because it’s too long when they cut it. I believed them until I put these blades on. no clumps. What does that tell me about lawn care professionals? Even those with four star ratings? Not so professional. Get these and cut your own lawn. You’ll be happy you did. Not for the work, but for the RESULT!
