Weirdly Obsessed
This putty is amazing—Scarab is a stunning, color-shifting dream and the texture is smooth, stretchy, and super satisfying. It doesn’t leave my hands feeling gross like some other putties, and it’s become my go-to desk fidget. However… when it arrived, the tin had been upside down during shipping and the putty basically suctioned the lid shut. It took 20 minutes and my husband’s help to finally get it open. Once it settled back to the bottom, it was fine—but heads up, you might need backup the first time you try to open it.

Product is great, the packaging less so.
I’ve never bought thinking putty before, but the doc prescribed something like this to a family member, wanting them to use it for strength and dexterity in their hands. I have sensory issues and whenever they weren’t using it, I would borrow it to squish to my heart’s content. When I saw this, I had to get it for myself.I’ve only just received it, so I can’t comment on whether or how quickly the colour fades. Out of the box, the colour is really beautiful. The consistency is perfect: based on other reviews, I was expecting it to be slimier than it is, and I’m glad that’s not the case. It’s getting the thing out of its tin that’s a challenge. Mine had leaked around the edge and dried, creating a sort of seal that made opening the tin even more difficult. Luckily, I had just ordered a spudger, and that made things a lot easier (see photo). But based on this experience, I’m being careful to keep the tin flat, which means I can’t just chuck it in my backpack. This is not okay. I will need to find a better storage solution, which is disappointing given the price tag.So why five stars? Because the squishy is super squishy and wonderful, and I couldn’t bring myself to subtract stars for the subpar tin.

really nice but the tin.
Really nice super satisfying! when you play with it for a long time it turns grey because of air bubbles then when you let it sit it returns back to the original color! I will say that the metal tin does dent easily. Mine came dented so I can’t close the tin again….but it never dries up so it’s fine no scent at all it is a little expensive but you do get a lot.

find waldo style
hard texture, crunchy, fun, good for people who don't like to make eye contact

No mess!
This is one of my favorite brands. I'm a therapist for youth and like having fidget toys and things for my clients to play with during session. This putty is perfect. It has the right amount of firmness that they have to work with it a little but it doesn't make any mess! I find it a tad pricey but still worth the price. Only thing is the youth (as well as myself sometime) have a hard time getting the lid off. Again, still worth the investment!

Not the right thing for me
As a middle-aged adult, who is struggling with ADHD in a way that I have not earlier in life I have the gun searching and trying out different fidget toys. This one could work for some people, but I would say for anyone like me who is really bad about putting stuff up it is a total no go. It’s beautiful. It feels good. It’s really fun to play with however The little tin lid got bent somehow. I was having trouble putting it back on so once at night I just put it over to the side woke up in the morning and my sheet was stuck into it and was permanently ruined and had to be thrown away. So I just gave up and threw it away knowing that I was just gonna destroy everything around me with this stuff getting stuck to it. It’s probably better for somebody if they’re just gonna keep it on their desk at work or if it’s a child who has a parent who’s gonna make sure it gets picked up. I don’t need a toy to add additional issues to my existing executive dysfunction in my environment.
