Bright, good colour, dims nicely; just watch out for mixed product
Buying LED lamps can be a bit of a lottery. Will they flicker; what's the colour going to be like; if dimmable, how well will they do this? A tonne of questions. I think I've struck lucky here.First, the light quality. These are 7W; dimmable; and rated at 4000K, so a warm white. I bought these to replace some 20W 12V halogens. They're noticeably brighter and yet give the same sort of colour tone. There's no flicker. Best of all, I'm using these with a Varilight V-Pro IR LED dimmer switch, and they work together really well. The lamps dim progressively from full brightness down to the faintest glow from the LED. If I used a more precise dimmer such as Rako, I bet these lamps would dim almost as well as halogens. This is very good. I've used dimmable LEDs in the past where they get to about a quarter brightness then just go off at any lower setting. These go all the way down to virtually nothing, or up from that point. So why isn't this a five-star review then? The answer is that my batch of ten lamps included four from a different brand (LAP). I suspect that some other customer swapped the Sanlumia lamps in the boxes for the LAP 4W dimmables then sent them back for a refund. No one at the supplier checked. They just sent the stock out to me. Oops! It's sorted now, but it meant I couldn't complete my job in the one day. It hasn't stopped me ordering another ten lamps though for the next upgrade in the house. I'll just be sure to open each box and double check that nothing has been substituted.

Quality LED GU10s
I have been fed up with traditional 2700K lamps and have been using only lights above 3000K, for their purer white. Stopped short of getting 4000Ks until now, but glad I have. Things to like about these are:1. Very, VERY bright. This give a very clean, but not cold, neutral light that allows wall colours and pictures to be rendered naturally, without that horrible yellow cast from lower temp bulbs. The last time I had lights this bright was when I had 75W halogens, but I think these may even be brighter.2. Very smooth dimming. With the right dimmers, these go from very low to full-on brightness very smoothly, allowing you to dial-in the brightness accurately.Downsides? Their insistence on selling in 10 packs is fricking annoying, especially when you only have 12 dimmed lights. and with comparable sets of 10 non-dimmables costing a full tenner less, this is a cynical ploy to force you to buy more than you need. I'd rather pay a fair premium for singles/two-packs.Other than than, not problems.

Doesn't fit all sockets: beware
I've had this problem before with GU10 fittings that have a glass base rather than a ceramic one: the based doesn't fit too well into some sockets, or if it does, it requires a lot of force and graunching to get it in. Unfortunately, these bulbs fall into that category. I have two light fittings with a fixed GU10 socket in a recess, and the bulbs just won't twist into the socket at all, after the prongs have engaged. I've no problem with other GU10s (LED or halogen) in these fittings. I have other downlighters where the sockets are loose on a flylead, and these bulbs fit fine, and, in fact, they are great: I've used them in the kitchen where I needed a bit more light and they are brighter than the 5W LEDs I was using before, have a great colour, and dim well (so I won't send them back, but I will keep them for the kitchen). So now I'm off to find some high-power dimmable LEDs with a more conventional base style.

Bright but will fail quickly
I purchased 10 of these and I have used them at home for about 9 months.Firstly these are bright lamps which provide as much light as a 50W halogen fitting. They also dim very well when paired with digital dimmers. This said I started to have problems with the lamps after 3 months after 9 months I have replaced them all with an alternate lamp. The failure of the lamps is likely caused by them overheating and this is appears to have been a trade to provide a higher light output.I have since replaced all of mine with 6.2W Philips Master GU10’a which are all around better lamps.I could not recommend these and would suggest paying a little more for the above.

Good while they last!
Using these on a regular switched circuit (7w Natural Dimmable) 1 failed after a month or so of use, thought it was a one off, but now these other 2 have failed as shown in the photos after about 10 months (No more than 600hrs use). They are not completely off, first they start to flicker for a few days then only light to about 5% at a guess while the working ones are obviously 100% off a regular switch.Look elsewhere if you want reliability, these should last20x longer than this!
