Anyway, there is no room within the switch, however, a lot of electrical items are double insulated and don't use an earth, including many table lamps as I've personally adapted in my own home. If your application requires an earth, you can easily run the earth around the side of the switch and could easily mount inside a box for astetics. I did similar with two metal floor up-lighters when I went to LED filament and put the switch in the old dimmer case, with the earth protector included here too. An alternative would be to use a sonos plug in socket S20/S26 (I think are the numbers, I have two, one for the kettle...). I'm a competent electrician in the terms of BSI. **Q: Can I use these so the light switch on the wall will work as normal in addition to being able to turn the light on and off via wifi?** A: In the settings for the device it will say “Power On State” this needs to be set to on So if you press the wall switch, the lights go off. Press the wall light switch on.. the lights will switch on.. just like a normal switch. Once in the on position you can control via WiFi/alexa. If you turn the wall switch off then there is no power to the sonoff and it won’t respond to any WiFi signal **Q: Do these switches work with the zigbee protocol? or do they work directly with samsung smartthings?** A: These are standalone devices and work with own app and Alexa g home etc. and do not work with ZigBee or smartphone. Works perfectly but the challenge is that you need to know the electric cabling very well. Lot of the connections does not have neutral and that’s a challenge to know where that neutral is and there is an option to do single wiring as well, but the device need a natural. So, its bit challenging to pull the to the device itself. At the time, I was not sure of plugs doing the same and I should invest in them than the switch for below reasons.- You can only control with Alex, Google and others but what is Wifi is switched off at home – you don’t have a hub and if the device is not reachable (like I installed near the light because the wires are there, you can click the button easily for manual switch.- No dimmer – so worth waiting and buying better one as you don’t want to invest and re-invest (it’s a pain to do the cabling and other stuff)Overall it’s a great introduction for Automation and you can play around with these but for serious buyer you need to invest more. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unable to pair to wifi first time, sorted *by D***. on 10 December 2019* Works great, I could not get the unit to connect to the wifi, in the end I used a different iPhone and it worked, I have used 7 out of 10 and all programming is easy. I have IPhone 11 pro. I used an old 5 to program the units.
