If so, does it work well with cold water washes and is it safe for the septic?** A: I bought it to make my own laundry detergent also! I did that and haven't had any troubles - we use cold or cool water to wash. I was told that both the old and new listed ingredients are actually the same thing. A Consultant Kirk's brought in to advise them updated the ingredient names. Before purchasing, I would suggest contacting Customer Service and asking them directly just to confirm what my understanding is. My son, however, found it painfully drying on his hands so I’m not purchasing it again. The point was to help Him with contact dermatitis and sensitive skin. Amazon also sends whatever it wants, it seems.
