Does what it says on the tin
Significantly smaller and lighter than expected, which is a plus. Easy to use and met my expectations, with acceptable write speeds (80GB took about 20mins). Would happily buy again.

Super affordable mass storage
I bought this for a client to use, and it was awesome! Transfer speeds were excellent, it’s tiny & light weight. Built in cable felt good, but any built-in, tethered, cable can be a problem down the road.

Bought for Xbox One, it's perfect
My Xbox One hit full storage and I've been deleting games to make room for the handful I can fit in there (Looking at you CoD: Modern Warfare...) so I've been in the market for external storage for a while. I figured SSD would be the better option since I've heard PC Gamers express how much of a difference it made. All I can say is WOW. It's shockingly faster than I would've expected! I know USB-3 is a big factor but after transferring all my large games to the external I can say definitively that there is a notable difference in speed. Games like CoD, Destiny 2, The Witcher 3, Civ VI, all load roughly 50% faster than before. I can't say for certain how accurate that measurement is, but I can say that for games like Cod, Witcher, and Destiny I used to load a location in game, then go to the bathroom, get a snack from the kitchen, and respond to text messages all before the game finished loading. Now I have maybe 15-30 seconds tops before the loading finishes. This is a huge improvement to my gaming and I am ecstatic that this device was able to deliver. The price is pretty damn good too, and the fact that it doesn't need external power (unlike some other/regular HDs) is a huge plus. Strongly recommend.

Reliable and Super Small
I use only WD drives. I have bought others and have had problems. I have never had a problem or lost data with a WD drive. This one has the USB core built-in. This makes portability very nice due to the compactness of the whole set-up.

Reformat for Linux mount.
If your Linux system doesn't mount the SSD it is likely that it doesn't recognize the exFAT file system. I "fixed" mine by using another system's Windows-10 Format Drive function which offers only two File Systems; exFAT and NTFS. I chose NTFS and deselected the Quick Format box. Be sure to specify a Volume Name. Continuing a box appears titled 'Formatting Drive' but it doesn't seem that anything is happening (and a Big BOO BOO for WD - there is *no* Drive Access light) but after about 10 minutes a little bit of green will begin to appear in the progress bar. It takes 2-3 hours to complete the format. As Linux will then mount the drive, Linux may then be used to reformat it with the File System of your choice. Note: A Quick Format may not work. Linux-R-Us!

Great Solid State Hard Drive With Rather Fast Transfer Speeds
I've been using this drive for almost a year and couldn't be happier with it's performance. I used to travel with a conventional (spinning disc type) for a long time and was worried that it would fail from all the knocking around. This solid state drive is durable, easy to transport, and has relatively quick transfer speeds.

Works great, very compact
Works well. I like that the usb cord is integral and snaps into a pocket on the side of the case.

Great ssd
After my other ssd went a little bit wonky I had to buy another to store all my stuff on.So compact easy to use and very easily stored as it is tiny. And with its rubber case so very robust

Not very fast
Its considered a class of USB SSD Stick drive - comes pre-formatted in FAT32, optimized for SSD. Its a mid-class SSD drive, hence, not very fast. But its not expensive for what it does. For my Use Case of backing up data from time to time, it works OK. The main value in it for me, its not a mechanical drive, so should last longer.

ultimate portable drive
I am only reviewing this as the recent reviews all appear to be written against unusual expectations. The units (we have now bought a number of them) are wonderfully compact, fully self contained, and ideal for light or professional use.The inbuilt lead is a great inclusion, and at under 6 inch long, neaty stows in the case when the drive is being carried. The Speed of the drive is pretty sound, but limited by the USB (3.0) access on the PC, so on older machines tends to be more akin to a conventional Disk. On a modern PC, then it is slightly slower than a built in SSD, but faster than a real disk PC.This is the ultimate USB Stick, and we have found that it transforms back and restore operations on a variety of machines. When coupled with Acronis (other packages are available), then cloning a damaged machine is no longer a chore, but a time to fit in a quick cup of coffee. So, if you need an SSD to try and speed up an old PC, then look at a built in option, but if you are looking for something fast for backup and restore, or large data moves, or even just to avoid snarling up the network with large file transfers then this is the ultimate solution. The short lead being ideal to allow the drive to sit beside a computer, without the strain imposed by having a memory stick (why are they so big anyway? - the active bit is tiny) stuck into the delicate USB port.Has become a daily used item by most of our engineers, so a must have for anyone above a basic home user (although I'll bet it works well for movies etc.).
