I have never felted before, but was able to pick this up very quickly. Directions with pictures are super easy to follow. I didn't even get the felting pad as advised, but was able to shape a beak and wings in my hands without it. The wool seems to be very good quality---it lays smoothly and softly compared to other kits i've seen that look rough and lumpy in comparison. I made the two owls pictured and then had enough wool left over to make five more! Very Happy with my purchase--it was enjoyable, informative, and gave me the basic skills i need to continue on and do more felting on my own. I would certainly recommend this kit over most of the other ones pictured, which often have you shaping the figures in a mold....this kit doesn't have a mold, it just teaches you to do it by hand, which if you're interested in continuing is how you need to learn to do it anyway.

I bought this item for my 9 year old daughter since owls are her favorite bird. I was apprehensive about letting her work with the needle (which is very sharp and very easy to stab yourself with), so I only let her do bits and pieces of the main body. I also think the details on the eyes and beak would be too much for a child so young. However, I had a blast working on them both. In one evening watching a movie on TV, I was able to finish two owls. It did not take long at all and they are just adorable. There is plenty of material in the kit to do more than two.

I purchased this kit as a gift for my wife. She loves Owls and enjoys doing craft projects so it seemed like a good fit. She was thrilled to receive the gift. She was even more thrilled with the three Owls that she made. The included instructions were more than adequate for her to achieve success with and now she is creating her own critter designs. The kit included enough material to create the two owls and a third one of her design.

I have not started thid one project yet... It is also very cute and simply yet still some challenge.. Thanks for the kits. I love them all so far. They all hve been as expected according to the discriptions.

Was a fun and easy kit. I made them for my Niece and she loved them. Very nice color photo directions.

My grandaughter loved this as an introduction to needle felting. Cute little owls and very fun packaging! It was very easy for her to complete.

Sweet little crafty gift for the young budding artist. Neatly packaged and unique and love that it is made in the US. Recommended project.
