Made my demolition work go much faster
I'm redoing my house's deck this summer and started by removing all the old boards with an 8-inch pry bar. These boards were nailed down, and the work was slow-going -- I spent several hours, over a couple weekends, toiling away, and until today still was only halfway done. The entire deck had hundreds of nails, and removing each one could take up to a minute or two. I was eager to move on to the construction phase, so a few days ago I looked for a tool that could pull out the nails faster. This Dead On Exhumer Nail Puller had excellent reviews, so I figured it was worth a try. What a difference! I powered through all the remaining nails this afternoon and even had time to mow my yard. This tool easily gripped each nail and provided excellent leverage; I could pound the tool into place with only 3 hits from a hammer and in most cases pull the nail free with only the tool itself. (In other cases, I loosened the nail with the tool and pulled it free the rest of the way with the back end of my hammer.) I was able to increase my speed and remove 3 to 4 nails a minute, blazing past my previous pace, and even started to enjoy the work. This tool isn't designed for more delicate projects, and I'll keep using my 8-inch Stanley pry bar for that. But if it definitely helped me out with my demolition duties. I was reminded of how the cast of "This Old House" always says the right tool can make a job much easier. I have some other demo projects planned on a rental house I own and now am looking forward to taking along this tool.

Best nail puller I ever owned
Best nail puller I have ever had! Had one for 10 years then it disappeared! Was happy to see it on Amazon as the store where I had originally purchased it no longer carries it.

Exhume those nails
This nail puller is consistently the best in the industry. I had one 20 years ago and they have not changed the style or performance. The angled design and slim head allow you to "exume" any nail whether superficial or buried with minimal material damage. Will buy again in another 20 years if need be.

Nice shape, but the steel is a bit soft
I really like the size and shape of this tool. It's quite versatile for demo of all ages of construction, but it lacks the durability for a pro. The first one lasted about six years, the second lasted about six months. Removing joist bracket nails really puts a hurtin' on it.

Best you will ever use
The exhumer is the best cats paw on the market. It just reaches in and grabs the nails. Highly recommend

A very nice solid tool
A very good tool. This one lasted me two years of regular use before the claws were reamed out so far that itโs no longer useful. The steel on the top and the backside of the head (the part you whack with a hammer) is all nicely rounded from thousands of hammer blows. The steel is soft enough to not shard yet hard enough to stand up too repeated use.

Does the job
Strong, works great for pulling stubborn nails from reclaimed pallet wood. Also does a good job digging out staples from the same. Making an extension handle from a bit of scrap steel tubing means even the most stuck nails can be pulled and doesn't show any signs of bending the tool yet.

High quality and effective
I needed to pry nails out of a tight spot. and the ability to move the nail with just the tip of the tool was important. The Exhumer did the trick. It's not the cheapest nail puller but the quality means that it is great value.
