Great product for the price.
Not a woodturning offiado, but these have worked well. Seem to hold an edge for the work I do and I like to keep my tools sharp. Like the handle lengths that Hurricane puts on there tools. Have other tools by this company and cannot complain. Makes it affordable to be a turning hobbyist.

Excellent with a great price
Pretty amazing for the price. Tested them without any sharpening, turned a beautiful goblet from green Apple wood. Perfect. Removed the fancy stickers from the metal ferals, would rather have the smooth metal at the neck.

Good gouges...not great gouges
I have worked on several projects with these gouges. They work fine but require a bit more sharpening that others that I own. Good for starting turner.

Where is the steel?
When you look at the pictures the steel is long. The ones I got where from the used/returned warehouse. The largest sized gouge the steel was only about 3 inches long. With it being that short I only have about an inch to use. The tip was sharpened to a point that is about a half inch long and that needs to be grounded down to a usable bevel. So after all of this I really only have a half inch of usable steel before I have to replace it. I don’t know if this is the way they come brand new, and I plan on finding out but if it is I will never buy these again.Got replacement’s and these things are great. They hold an edge for a decent amount of time. I am very happy with them now.

Good quality and is what I was expecting.

okay starter set.
While the price point on these us good each gouge only has 2 inches of usable flute. Had I realized this I would have spent a little more on a tool with more usable flute.

These are good tools, made of high speed steel as stated.Fit and finish is good, not superb, the tools work very well after regrinding. excellent starter tools.Possible improvements: would be nice if these were sold already with fingernail grind, also flutes could have been longer. however these shortcomings can be easily ignored given that these are 5 times cheaper than comparable gouges sold with some Englishman's name branded onto them.
